Shit dumb smooth brain prey animal. No amount of breeding will make them very good, petting zoo level at best.
what animals would be worth domesticating now?
People would just rape them if they could.
Deer, like any animal that live in close proximity to humans, are already semi-domesticated and are in the process of becoming moreso. The genes for deer to be chill and be cool with humans (and seek humans for help/food) are being incentivized as those deer live and reproduce, where as overly skittish deer who live in the wilds or attack humans are more likely to be killed or have less success foraging for food. It's evolution, it just takes a really long time.
Can you imagine?
They're already as domesticated as cattle.
Literally, they act exactly the same as hand-raised cows. Curiousity, playfulness, the chance that they might sperg out and hurt you during mating season. It's exactly the same.
Imagine the deer wives

>Why don't we domesticate deer?
Deer were historically hard to catch and keep enclosed because they're so agile they could easily jump over really tall fences.
Also the biggest challenge is capture myopathy, where animals like deer can die from stressful events (like being caught) days if not weeks after it happened due to chemical changes in their muscles
because their only use would be meat, which even then is meh
cows produce meat, milk, leather, and glue
red deer jerky is damn god
...
Deer also produce milk and leather and glue...
?
We already have. There are domesticated deer all over Europe, most famously in Finland and Sweden.
If you listen to/ k/ they make excellent "companion" animals.
Domestication only serves to diminish animal capabilities by enabling them to be abused by humanity through reduced intelligence. Instead, as your ancestors did. Tame nature through intelligence and trust as God intended.
What about raccoons? Just imagine having a pet raccoon, how cool is that
That would be horrible. They chew through walls, they open boxes and jars with their little hands, and they're very inquisitive so they get into everything. You also can't housebreak them, they just poop wherever.
>they open boxes and jars with their little hands
I'm sorry I did not read any more of your post than this
they do, fricker
He's not saying that they don't.
He's saying that he finds the idea cute.
For what purpose? Pulling sleighs? Maybe this would’ve been an attractive idea in the 1800s but not now
‘Coons are dogshit animals and deserve to be shot on sight
Actually used to be commom to have pet raccoons but the nanny state took that from you.
Probably because of dumb bimbos like this, you don't keep them in the house dumb hole they live in an outdoor coonhouse and you play with them outside. I wonder if zoomers even have any concept of how bland and mollycoddled their sad existence is.
Ok boomer
>Why don't we domesticate deer? The Russians domesticated foxes within half a century so we could have house deer within our life times.
Because they are not ideal animals for domestication. The fox project was also a proof of concept and did not peoduce truely ideal domesticated foxes and a lot of that domesticated population has died off in recent years.
>they are not ideal animals for domestication
Why? It seems that dumb herbivores are easy to tame and adapt to humans. Also foxes are solitary and are shit pets.
>It seems that dumb herbivores are easy to tame and adapt to humans
If you are talking agriculture sure, but then what use would a deer fill when almost all other niches have been filled with other and more adaptable animals? "Cute" is not enough.
We could make good pet foxes, they accidentaly made somewhat pet foxes in an attempt to make easy to breed and kill for pelt foxes.
