They do. The FWC traps feral cats if they are anywhere outside a neighborhood and they either get brought to a shelter or killed. Most of the cats brought to shelters get killed anyways.
Do you think they just let feral cats roam nature preserves and kill everything? Wauf has got to be one of the dumbest boards on Wauf.

Wow. Someone linking a news article about this place. That’s rare. Regardless, there are no cats wandering around nature preserves here, and this shit is so very rarely enforced, if someone has a problem with legit feral cats and starts trapping/killing them no one is going to run to the police about it or something, hell, our solution to our green iguana overpopulation problem was paying people ten dollars for each one they killed, matters regarding wildlife is very hands off here

whats stopping you and other like minded individuals from doing it yourself?
Clearly its a problem I understand that, but surely letting certain groups sway legislature into allowing harmful creatures to attack and harass without serious punishment isn't right at all.

Cat people will actually murder small animals out of anger if you upset them by telling them that their feral colony is an ecologic disaster. Python people generally are sad the snakes have to be euthanized but understand.

Both are a problem, but easier political actions happen first, they are easier.

One benefit of pythons is that they're allowing reptiles and birds to repopulate because they eat the mammals that eat eggs.

I don't actually want to own a burmese python and never will, but I do like knowing that if I wanted to I could. Because if they ban them next it will be boa constrictors, and then it will be ball pythons, and then all reptiles.
Just look at the Netherlands or other countries where you can only own things on the "positive list" and nothing else. You can't even have dwarf hamsters over there for frick's sake.

I will own as many self defense pythons as I want as the founding fathers ordained.

People who don't realize they get to unmanageable sizes and pose a threat to an alone person. And also don't realize they could just get something more reasonable like one of the Boa species.

One benefit of pythons is that they're allowing reptiles and birds to repopulate because they eat the mammals that eat eggs.

That would be great if it was just native reptiles and birds, but even those are being threatened by invasives.

Because pythons aren't cute and relatable to normal people.
