      Accurate

It wasn't, that tree species does not live long enough for that, and also, it was to prove that their religion was wrong because surely their god would come do something about it. Probably a good thing considering they had absolutely no way to talk themselves out of their spiritual obligation to die while trying to murder someone else.

Sure the tables would have been turned when his god never did anything about transgressions regarding his faith, but the bible has "two more weeks" and "after ur dead AHAHAHA" clauses, which makes proving it wrong impossible. It also has a "i prophesize that people will disagree with me and if they do that's proof i'm right" clause and a "people once believed in something else but that's just more proof i'm right" clause so it's pretty bulletproof using nothing but schoolyard bully tier "logic". Unfortunately it also has clauses that mean you can interpret it any way you want and completely disprove the entire bible using the bible itself so it's also pretty useless.

The actual oldest tree in history was killed much later in the name of muh heckin science. Because the world really had to know exactly how old a specific tree was.

Wasn't the oldest living animal also killed in science when they tried getting Its age? I'm sad to hear trees lost their eldest in a similar fashion, but even worse for a grad's fricking resume padding

Murder is natural and therefore good
    >THATS A FALLACY
Natural is necessarily good because it is a chaotic system arriving at its ideal resting point. It is synonymous with good. Murder is a strong individual freeing up resources that were held by an individual with a fatal flaw that predisposed them to being murdered. It is natural and therefore good.

Going against nature prevents a system from optimizing itself and is essentially bad, even if you are a nihilist, because nihilism is actually highly natural.

I'm not saying you have to live in the woods or whatever but just having a different state of mind will help you. when you next listen to the wind in the trees and drink in the smell of the earth remember you are a piece of the whole.

There are no such things. The only spirits are either fallen angels or angels. Possibly some of the souls of the nephilim.

It is possible the tree did house a tempting spirit, or satan himself, for a time. They are not bound to these things though, they lure people from the truth with honeyed lies through whatever means they can. If they can make you worship some useless object through some sweettalk, that turns your worship from the God. That is a success in their minds.

They only act evil when faced with a holy man they can't corrupt. To others, they're all honey and incense because it's more convincing to act nice than it is to try scaring people into line.

Faith is all I need to know it.
But for some level of evidence for the faithless, you can look to its doctrines and see that there is almost no worldly benefit to following the belief. This should make you ask yourself why a bronze age people would have come up with something that doesn't actually benefit them, it doesn't play into natural things like many of the pagan faiths do, or excuse wanton worldly behavior like Islam and Judaism does. It's rigid commitment to sinlessness, often at great personal sacrifice, and you can't even tell a white lie to save yourself, you can't break the dietary law to keep yourself from starving. There's no exceptions anywhere for anything it tells you to do. You follow a hardline, nearly impossible doctrine or you fail and do not make it to Heaven.

The only reason anyone would have come up with this and lived this hard of a life is if it was the truth told to them by the true God.

              Anonymous

              >there is no wordly benefit
False. Your religion explicitly requires punishment for “sins” and has a long history of imprisoning, torturing, and killing people. Thou shalt not kill is correctly translated as thou shalt not murder, and anyone who is forgiven is without sin and can cast the first stone, which means the church is authorized to carry out executions.

Also “do what me schizo say or you suffer forever after you die” is a clear threat to an illiterate and superstitious moron.

The only reason someone would come up with this is if they were leveraging mythology as a means of social control. Coincidentally, every christian country was a builder of large and murderous armies. The church said spread the faith, the crown said and bring back gold.

Christian law may only be applied to Christians. You cannot forcibly convert anyone, it's disallowed by God. The things done by Catholicism isn't really in line with the doctrines.
Catholicism maybe claim to be Christianity, but it is polluted with pagan tendencies, the entire Apocrypha is worldly and should not be followed.

                >real christianity hasn’t been tried yet
It is explicitly instructed in your book that sodomites and nonchristian leaders must be publicly executed but only by devout christians. The word of your god itself tells you how and why to kill them.

Christians who had fallen to sodomy and other negative practices.
The wars with the Canaanites was a specific contextual event. Not a guide for how to make war, not a command to make war. The bible makes it pretty clear there's never going to be a truly Christian nation, it makes it clear Christians will be persecuted by governments, rather than ruling them.

That is some really weak logic. According to you, the absurdity and "hardcoreness" of Christian belief are the proof of its veracity. So let's say that I decide to start a new faith, called Christianity+, which is the exact same as Christianity but with the added commandments that you need to gouge out your eyes, cut off your hands and feet, and eat 3 tons of elephant shit every day, and failure to do all this condemns you to Hell. Following your own logic, Christianity+ is automatically the one true faith, since it is even more absurd and hardcore than regular Christianity.

Because something is natural, it is good. Creating artificial medicines is natural human behavior therefore it is good.

There is no other objective standard of good and evil besides darwinian protocols. The behaviors evolved by more successful individuals are more good because they are more successful.

Calling this a fallacy is fallacious in itself. It begs the question: what is good or bad? It could be that natural is synonymous with good and that probably dying on holistic meds is preferable in the long term.

But if natural is necessarily good it ceases to be a fallacy

A fallacy is an essential error in logic that invalidates any conclusions made from it, 2+2=5 level thinking, not a conclusion you disagree with on philosophical grounds

          Anonymous

Ever since slippery slope became a thing a lot of these fallacies are false now
Yeah of course poison mushrooms and animals killing each other over hunting grounds can be seen as bad but that's nature for you and it is inevitable and justified in most situations
Good or ideal is stupid hippy shit
Everything you eat would eat you in a heartbeat
A tree would eat you if it could move look at carnivorous plants
Killing when it benefits you as inevitable as rising rape statistics if rape became legal

            Anonymous

Slippery slope is important because it's important to prove why the slippery slope will happen instead of just throwing whatever out there. People just don't consider the why because it's almost always the j... a gigantic joke hahaha.

The natural fallacy however is very much a religious thing, going all the way back to greco-roman religions. The fallacy is itself fallacious and people do not question it because asking "what is good anyways, and why is natural not an answer?" leads to some conclusions on human nature that adults don't want to say or hear, because they know the untermensch will take it all too far.

Humans can't into simple systems that do fine when followed consistently.

              Anonymous

I always saw natural fallacy as people trying to excuse any and all behavior as normal
Animals don't normally want to hurt and kill for no reason its almost always for food, self defense due to fear, and territorial disputes
Not liking a person to the point of trying to kill them has nothing to do with these 3 major factors

Slippery slope was definitely due to exaggeration like when parents told their kids to go to sleep or then the empire falls

        >Donar's Oak (also Thor's Oak or, via interpretatio romana, Jove's Oak) was a sacred tree of the Germanic pagans located in an unclear location around what is now the region of Hesse, Germany. According to the 8th century Vita Bonifatii auctore Willibaldo, the Anglo-Saxon missionary Saint Boniface and his retinue cut down the tree earlier in the same century. Wood from the oak was then reportedly used to build a church at the site dedicated to Saint Peter. Sacred trees and sacred groves were widely venerated by the Germanic peoples.
