I am in England and I haven't heard of a single mosquito this summer and it's nearly JULY
What is happening? Not that I miss them or anything but this is weird, especially with the heat we had recently

Left my bug zapper on last night
I'm doing God's work
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Who's missing them? I know there's got to be some resident mosquitofag here crying about them.
i hadn't been seeing any myself, but it seems the peace is broken. got my ass chewed sometime yesterday, and never even noticed any. so a large batch of larvae must have come up somewhere.
my neighbor's fucking junk pile is probably full of standing water from all these weeks of rain. god i wish we would scourge these things from existence.
I'm in Tennessee and there still around. I went to a drive-in movie with my gf last night, and we got swarmed by them because we forgot to bring mosquito repellent.
I don't know what it's like where you are, but here in Denmark there's a drought and everything is bone dry.
I assume the mosquitos are staying near lakes and such. There's nothing for them on my very brown back lawn.
One bit me on the forehead the other week mate don't worry, they're around.
Same, motherfucker got me right between the eyes
Little shits aren't they. I don't live in an area with many mosquitoes normally, this is horsefly turf (unfortunately, I'd be happy to swap), but after that long drought and then the first big rainstorm a week or two ago here in the north west, there were plenty of knocking about.
>decades of inventing new gadgets, chemicals and biological weapons to kill mosquitos
>decades of getting rid of mosquito breeding grounds
>"Where are all the mosquitos?"
Humans are funny
It's part of the classic comedy act:
>decades of efforts to kill all kind of bugs in agriculture, gardens and balconies
>decades of efforts to kill all kind of bug-feeding weeds in agriculture, gardens and balconies
>decades of efforts to clean all kind of bug-breeding corners in agriculture, gardens and towns
>"Where are all the bugs?"
>"Where are all the bug eating birds, mammals and reptiles?"
What the fuck? I'm there too and I've been wondering where the fuck they went too. In early spring my rain barrels were generating infinite larvae for me to feed to my fish, but now it's all just a shit ton of bloodworms(gnat larvae). I've seen a little more lately though so hope they come back, my fish got spoiled on them and are pissed.
new england is swampy af so i don't think habitat loss would be the issue
I've seen a fair few here in the east midlands; it might just be your area
i am in florida and yesterday evening i went outside and within minutes my leg was covered with no less than 6 mosquitos

I'm noticing this on east coast US as well this summer. The area should be swarming with them by now but there's nothing. Close to zero fireflies as well, though their decline became obvious a few years ago. The vanishing of the mosquitoes on the other hand has seemingly come out of nowhere this year specifically. It makes me wonder if some new pesticide has come into widespread use that just happens to be perfectly suited to mosquito-annihilation.
I noticed this this year and last year and I’m in the Midwest.
covid vaccine had unintended consequences
Put out a bucket of water and in a week you'll have hundreds of larvae in there.
