What's wrong with ticks anyways?

We only just a little off your blood then frick off, it is crazy that people act like they are "cruel parasites" when you can't even feel a thing and are so tiny. They are not like leeches which actively rip into your skin and hurt like a b***h, they are the real problem.

I feed the birds and allow my dog to chase off cats in order to ensure TOTAL TICK DEATH on my property

I’m also considering artificially boosting bird populations including owls to make kittycats stay in the bushes with the mice, but how? Where can I get great horned owls?

    >We
Clean up your spit and we'll talk. You dont see bedbugs giving people lyme disease. If you could get with them to figure out how to suck blood while being BOTH free of additional parasites and nonpainful I might consider letting either one of your species continue.

They carry diseases and are disgusting besides.
I personally believe that every species of tick on the planet should be deliberately and completely exterminated. Total tick extinction.

ticks are good population control. their excessive numbers today is due to urban cats wiping out their predators

as others have said: disease. Lyme disease will permanently weaken you, or lead to even worse disabilities. Constant pain and fatigue.

If ticks could evolve to not carry disease, I suspect they would be a far more successful species than they already are.

Ticks aren’t a problem for humans besides uncommon cases of disease, because we’re hairless and are flexible and smart enough to find, remove or simply block ticks via clothing, they’re a problem for just about any other animal though, they can easily accumulate and make the animal weak from disease and loss of blood, making them vulnerable to death from the elements or predators, or too weak to fight for territory or a mate.

How do you let it get to that point? That dog's owners should be put to death by scaphism.

IIRC dog got loose for a few days, decided to sleep on some leaves in deer country.

Jesus. How many ticks are on the average deer then?

They tend to look a lot like that dog. Ticks let go once they’re full enough and end up laying tons of eggs in hollows where deer bed down for the night. It just gets particularly bad in areas near humans since, even if there is suitable habitat left for larger tick predators like ground birds, the over abundance of cats end up wiping those out (as well as any reintroduction attempts) and the plentiful pesticides just plain kill off many of the bugs and bug-eaters that hunt ticks.

Yeah there's totally nothing unsettling at all about a tiny creature embedding itself in a hole in your skin and gorging itself on your blood, nope it's just the diseases
      Are you stupid?

this. for some people, the closest thing they'll ever get to physical intimacy is a bloodsucking parasite burrowing into their flesh and draining their life fluids

if you think about it, that's what marriage metaphorically is

The only reason you even think that's creepy is because the fact that they spread diseases led to evolutionary pressures that led to us finding it creepy and gross. If they never spread diseases then probably 90% of us wouldn't give two shits.

Continuing my other post - bedbugs do not spread disease.
Do you think 90% of people would be okay with bedbugs in their house?

They spread diseases plus it's not always just one tick attaching itself to a person or animal. I got a puppy from a newspaper ad years ago and she had little ticks all over her mouth. Some poor wild animals are encrusted with them and they can't do a thing about them.
