What does?

What does Wauf think about scientists attempts to eradicate mosquitoes? Personally, I’m against it.

The reason why people are afraid of doing it is because it's another step towards transhumanism. They side with the mosquitos because in the end you have more in common with a mosquito than with posthumanity which will see both of you in the same way: a pest.

Scientists need to eradicate roaches first. God I hate those nasty things.

We should dedicate our energy to eradicating ticks instead

We already did it once. Did the skeeters come back? Yes, without malaria.

It's the reason you have never had malaria.

Environmentalists would rather die than temporarily reduce the population of some moronic bird whose niche would be filled by crowchads eventually

Because it would probably harm the ecosystem.

Nothing eats mosquitos, it's a fricking lie. They spawn in tiny puddles where no fish lives, and they are too small as adults to feed birds or bats. Their ecological value is zero.

Go get malaria then and leave us sane people alive

Who am I kidding, that day will come. Perhaps the biggest intraspecific enemy to our health as a species was not right wingers doubting the safety of an experimental MRNA vaccine over the killed virus types they were already taking - no, it will be left wing environmentalists opposed to a temporary mosquito eradication because some bats might die off and be replaced with other bats that eat 4% more moths.

they're already a threat. the pace at which we could develop truly safe and effective medicines would skyrocket if animal and convict testing were no questions asked "frickin do it!" affairs if it were at all related to human survival.

environmentalists and animal rights activists has delayed so much life saving research it is unreal through direct disruptions and legislation increasing the costs and extending the delays of doing the research
we can not progress as a species until we totally roll back animal rights and start using involuntary test subjects again and ironically one country is like this already and they're about to buy the world economy because of it - china

The reason I've never had malaria is the vaccine
Any animal reduction with the goal of letting more human live is a mistake. There's already too many of us

        Start with yourself

        >The reason I've never had malaria is the vaccine
it's actually because you live in a first world country that eradicated it - because people matter more than a nitpick regarding a blip in the environment (protip: it's doing fine). The vaccine is only 75% effective and unfortunately the parasite is capable of evolving resistance.

Would you rather 25% of people die, or 100% of local mosquitoes die and then end up replaced with new ones in a year? If your answer is #1, if someone asked you if they could play russian roulette with one bullet in a four shot revolver aimed directly at your head, would you say yes? If you wouldn't, WHY WOULD YOU SUPPORT SAYING YES FOR SOMEONE ELSE?
