become a marine biologist or some activist that helps protect coral reefs
the only thing an honest citizen can do at this point is engage in eco terrorism
Towards oil companies?
[this post has been removed by state department]
Seriously though, return to your homes and recycle while 98% of the plastic produced goes straight into the ocean without ever reaching your consumer hands. There is nothing you can do anymore, not even the one big thing is going to be able to fix this. No "conscious consumerism," no "voting with your wallet," and there's certainly no voting your way out of this one. The plastic is in your brain already anon, it's entirely possible that I'm talking more to it than you at this point. We will continue chewing up the planet until we can't anymore, and then we'll be cut loose and set adrift to catch and kill whatever's left, just like the ghost nets out in the ocean: still fishing despite having long outlived their purpose.
Eat, drink, and be merry. For tomorrow we die.
Unironically, mass killings in the most populated countries
I'm talking about tens of millions of human deaths
Ok agent smith
BILLIONS MUST FRY
By not spilling billions of gallons of oil into the ocean.
But where would we dispose of it? I think oil is demonic
You're partly right. It was just fine where it was. Demons are only an issue if you're headed for hell or if you, spoiler alert
Dig too greedily and too deep, and bring the demons up to your home. The solution is simply to stop, first by slowing as sensibly and compassionately as possible so people who still don't have their seat belts unfastened don't just fly through the glass, then by actively reversing and pulling away from the cliff.
Save soil, let soil save us, we got 20-30 years before rampant chaos. It starts with us. These corporate pussies and elites don't actually have a creative or original bone in their body. Their purpose is to rule. If they rule over a population that only respects them if they serve the earth's interests first, rather than our own selfish indulgences, then they (or at the very least, their children who are watching and soaking up all the trends/art/lingo etc), will naturally cave in. Their goal is just to be the 'best of the best', well we're the basis that they 'improve upon'. If we refuse to give them a base-line to march to and just blame them for 'not fixing everything', we deserve to burn and we will. We're complicit in this, we're as guilty as they are. The change starts from within.
>he still thinks he can reform the system
>the aggregated lusts of seven billion+ locusts
I respect your temperament but get real, man.
This is the only way.
Frick the ocean.
How do I /misc/lutionmaxx/? What can I do to destroy the ocean other than fill it with dirt and eat as much seafood as possible? I don't care about any other colateral damage, just the fricking ocean.
Make sure to always dump your used car batteries in the nearest body of water
israeli hands wrote that post.
Dumping old car batteries in the ocean provides an excellent habitat for small fish as well as creating foofholds for new coral to form.
destroy the bankers
You mean ((bankers))
Kill CEOs of fishing companies, go full Ted mode
They would just nominate others. Instead do
.
Kill about 2-3 billion east asians/indians.
>and stop eating seafood?
have a nice day
Why? I still eat every other meat
Make a lot of money and fund research and stuff to fix the ocean. Not really sure there is any everyday activity to significantly help the environment.
Does using refillable cups, soap dispensers, straws, etc help?
No, even if everybody did that it would still not be 1% of the plastic trash in the oceans and a meaningless portion of all the pollution. Basically elites putting the blame on the common people and have them make sacrifices to feel good about doing something.
So what's the main cause of plastic in the ocean?
China
Fishing material. Fishing nets alone make up half of all the plastic in the ocean. Don’t listen to people blaming other countries like
they fell for the shift blame trick. As explained earlier in the thread. You put the blame on people from a distant place so you don’t have to do shit about it.
And who has the largest number of fishing boats? Please tell me.
Doesn’t change the fact that it still is just a shift the blame tactic. Call it their fault so you don’t have to do anything besides talk shit online. The big guys in charge are the ones who need to do something and we need to pressure them into being responsible for the plastic trash they produce, not just whine about another country and be an butthole to some poor person who have no power over it. Elites frick the environment and blame the poor and continue fricking the environment while people like you harass the poor and nothing is done to stop shit.
Also plastic is used to produce stuff that doesn’t have plastic in it too. Parts used in the manufacture tools, containers, all sort of products used in factures come with plastic, you gotta make sure they are disposing it properly and the only effective way is pressuring the authorities into making it obligatory. You can’t expect the common people to pressure and fiscalize them all, you need it to be in the law and the ones who don’t follow it to be punished. You also need powerful countries like USA pushing it into other countries as well but instead countries like USA does the opposite and whine that if others can frick the environment they can do it too.
>consumption, not harvesting and how
A lot of US fish come from farms, not wild.
Only 21% of US fish consumption per value comes from farms. And they usually farm species with a higher value so the amount is much lower per volume. And still doesn’t address the fact that you are being manipulated into whining about others instead of demanding authorities in your own country to do something. Also as pointed out aquaculture also have its impact and sometimes it is pretty high, we should also demand more investments on reducing the impact as explained in earlier posts.
Why are we eating saltwater fish in the first place?
no, its because its a distant place, no matter what you do its not going to change the fact that theyre still polluting, all youre doing its delaying the inevitable destruction of the oceanic biosphere with years of suffering for all the creatures in it, its the equivalent of patching up holes on a sinking ship while other people on board are making holes faster than you can fix, at that point youre not solving the problem, youre just stroking your ego
If Europe and USA form an agreement of non-pollution they can pressure China in fixing their shit by economic pressure. What usually happens is that Europe and Japan join but USA don’t making the whole thing pointless. Without USA undeveloped countries also reject it making it even worse. You guys have two arguments, one that it is already fricked and there is no point in doing anything and other that it is alarmism and everything is fine so there is no point is making sacrifices. Don’t you see that both benefit the same people?
what pressure, people arent going to vote to increase the price of consumer goods, theyre already expensive enough as is.
and even then third world nations have to pollute because it is the cheaper option, they dont have the money be able to do all this environmentally friendly practices, people like to say that solar and wind are the future, when they dont realize how expensive that stuff is compared to every other power source
methane is a fuel already, the problem is its a gas, and filtering gases is extremely expensive
1. Instead of not eating seafood you should look for business that profit from the oceans in a sustainable way. If every person in the world magically could get a portion of any seafood they wanted per day destroying the fishing industry then there would be absolutely no incentive for the elites to totally trash the ocean now that there is no major player profiting from it.
2. This is very unlikely to happen but organize people into pressuring the government in getting their shit together. Elites are very efficient at diverging the attention of the masses. For example: the plastic trash, they will incentive practices that have negligible effect just to make people feel better like banning plastic supermarket bags or plastic straws or pass the blame around so it is never their fault, it is always a scumbag from a different race far away from them, this way they can keep being part of the problem while people get angry at someone else. Example: you probably have heard about how the plastic waste is Asia’s fault etc. most of these plastic waste came from the west, countries like China would buy plastic for recycling. Countries like USA instead of sending clean plastic for recycling they would send non-recyclable plastic and garbage mixed in, all this trash would end up in China’s landfills and wind/rain take these to the rivers and from rivers to the ocean. Sure they have their share of blame but so does the west. When China said “enough” and demanded them to stop sending garbage mixed in the west response was to send it to different countries instead so China taking action had no effect. This will keep going like this until people stop being baited in shifting blame and demand their own government to do their part.
You mean like fishing in lakes? I do that already since it has no effect on the ocean (I think)
Read it again. A business have to profit from the ocean in a way that doesn’t destroy it so they have a reason to protect it. If they don’t profit from the ocean they have no reason to protect it.
But which businesses are profiting from the ocean without destroying it?
It depends on how the ones you get were caught. Were they caught at a sustainable rate? Sustainable fishing depends on a healthy and thriving population so they can fish a portion without affecting the population in the long term. These people have the best interest of the fish population in mind because their life-hood depend on it. Is it fished in a way that doesn’t cause much collateral damage? Some fishing practices cause lots of colateral damage destroying habitats and killing other animals that will be discarded like pic. Vaquitas went extinct because they are a bycatch from shrimp that supply America. USA was too late in setting policies demanding better fishing practices. Aquaculture can be a mixbag, apparently farmed shellfish is good while shrimp have a lot of issues. I believe farmed shrimp could be improved a lot if techniques to recycle its waste were developed/applied but until there is a pressure for it people will just dump it. In resume, you need to see what is available where you live and do your homework to find out where it came from and how it was caught/farmed. If people start buying more from the ones doing things right it would be an incentive for the others to start adopting better practices as well.
>while shrimp have a lot of issues. I believe farmed shrimp could be improved a lot if techniques to recycle its waste were developed/applied but until there is a pressure for it people will just dump it.
this a new company thats doing better farming, also i think you can just feed their poop to plants or snails or something, or just dump in the ocean to feed and some animals will eat that
Could be used for growing plants to be used as feed for the shrimp in case of fresh water or algae in both cases. Possibly could be paired with filter feeding like oysters if that doesn’t affect their taste or survival but all that require research and incentives.
it doesnt matter, its already fricked, no matter what you do, india and china will out pollute you, youre only making your life harder for a lost cause
Stop buying shit made in India and China then.

how can you say you love the oceans and fill them full of fertilizers, literal cow shit, methane, and carbon dioxide from animals and farming?
What about hunting your own meat?
>What about hunting your own meat?
do you? In the US it'd be near impossible to do without landing in prison.
I do, but unfortunately most of the meat I consume is still from the grocery store.
in prison
Only in NYC and California, in the midwest it's a way of life
We should be recycling methane into into fuel like some companies already do like opal
You are irrelevant kek. You are but a small fart in the wind. Even the richest people are irrelevant, stop being a narcisist. ffs
