Typical bird owners

>entire house smells like shit
>bird seeds everywhere

>owners don't care if feathered rat destroys the home
>owners don't care if feathered rat bites them
Are they mentally moronic?

If you don't raise your birds outdoors then you're doing it wrong.

I bought a wieneratiel 2 days ago and the piece of shit haven't even decided to eat a signle seed or drank water yet. Doesnt even moves from a single spot in the gigantic cage i bought for it unless its to avoid my hand. This sauropsid demon is testing my patience. If it doesnt gets better in 2 days i'll let my cat in

Return it. Parrots are bad pets.

Bad at living too it seems. I want them to eat and drink water. Even my fricking troonxolotl was less autistic than this and ate from the hand

Is it an adult? Handfed? Was it properly weaned? Return the bird if it isnt eating and you don't know how to wean it
      >The process of a baby bird transitioning off of formula and onto a diet of food and water. More specifically, weaning is the period of time when the bird begins picking at food until it is sustaining itself completely on food and water with no assistance from the formula. Baby birds must be offered food and water in order to wean.

Must be 3 or 5 months old. She drank water already and yesterday singed a bit and jumped arround so now i'm calmer that at least it won't die from thirst and autism.

Regardless the guy i bought it from was essentialy a nig from a shady corner, the place only opens in sundays and had all 4 'tiels in a very smol cage and dubious conditions.
I doubt he has any treatment with birds beyond trafficking them.

I got attached to her now i'm no longer stressed about it dehydrating (its very hot here rn).

Should i try bonding with her first or getting her a partner?
I will try whistling to her more ofren and putting my hand in the cage from time to time if i realize she's accustomed enough but i think i'll rather wait one day or two until it feels safer

listen.. bounding with your bird is the least of your worries. she is fricking dying. take her to the vet. buy baby bird food or parrot pellets (you can soack the pellet with water to create a liquid). offer baby bird food or soacked pellet to the bird to eat. for now, offer small amounts of soft, mashed foods like fruit/veggies with soacked bread. she was not weaned properly, she doesn't know how to eat solid food. please read

not OP but i have the extreme misfortune of having to take care of my sisters bird now that she works overseas. and im confident she doesnt care, originally it was supposed to be her "emotional support animal" but like hell it was, girl still had meltdowns when she still had him at her college dorm, i feel bad for the thing cause who knows how much she screamed while the bird was in her vicinity. now me and my parents are stuck taking care of this butthole, and my sister doesnt even seem sad about seeing HER BIRD off. god why do these frickers live 15 years, i cant wait for the day

screams us awake in the morning, screams at us for him to cover his cage pretty much every day at 6, screams any time he sees plugs or cables of any kind, screams at the vacuum, screams at the broom, screams at anything RESEMBLING something long and straight like a broom, screams at BATTERIES(???), screams for his bowl to be filled with food even when theres AMPLE FOOD IN THE BOWL, screams at water bottles that arent transparent(?????), SHUT THE FRICK UP

        >IS THAT A DURACELL?
        >AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I'm pondering that maybe the bird made the connection your sister holding batteries meant that a few minutes later there would be this horrible vibrating sound.
        >screams at anything RESEMBLING something long and straight like a broom
Yeah, your sister was putting some weird stuff up her love tunnel.

tbh u could take care of yourself n live lonely or have a little critter to take care of who gives you joy and also hopefully gives you a little bit of responsibility that you heed the call of duty for in taking care of them. the worst part about pets is vet bills. cleaning up a tiny shit is nothing compared to the joy they bring throughout the day if they genuinely love their critters

the only actually clean animals to keep in a home are reptiles and fish. their metabolisms mean waste/activity is lower and they are confined in their life support boxes. It's not to say that people cant make a filthy house with them and a lot do, but it's very easy to keep things clean with just terrariums and aquariums.
