I'm going to respect her wishes and not post some of the pictures she sent me but, god,
there is meme materal on her hard drive...
Imagine a standard poodle x great dane. That's about 120lbs. Belonging to an owner that either trained or encouraged it to tackle people at full charge. That's how it greeted people
It actually broke the tailbone of someone else working there after slamming them into a wall. The manuver she learned to deflect the thing was to "get a knee up into his diaphragm as he was charging so hed hit me and go WHOOOGH and keel over"
Bonnie Parker not only fired a sawed off browning automatic rifle, but she was a crack shot with it.
And my friend being able to do this with a monster hound somehow seems like even more of an accomplishment (and she's either as short or shorter than Bonnie was).
She had at least one other client's dog that was great with her but would genuinely attempt to kill anyone anywhere close to her.
There's a couple other stories I could repeat but they weren't the exception.
The thing about the person running the place, she swears they were a saint, but they also believed every dog has a right to daycare. And the majority of the dogs that were brought in to the place were "not emotionally suited, well socialized, or interested in daycare". Others were on their way out from cancer or something else and she had to be there when they left...
Long story short?
You are gonna have people come to you with All Kinds.
Saints. Darlings. Goblins. Tyrants. Maulers.
I'll uh... I'll ask how the pitbulls were (not a one of you act like you know better than her) but,
Australian Shepherds?
"Satans own nose hairs given terrible sentience!!!!" and looking back at how my mother's acted with me until we reached a peace accord?
Yeah.
Yeah that just about sounds right.
btw this is all why I asked
You had better be getting treated right by mgmt and clients.
Not that guy, but where I live it's extremely rare for it to be a formal business. Usually it's a family with one stay-at-home parent or a couple with at least one retiree doing "dogsitting" for 1-3 dogs or so.
My family did this for years when I was a kid, after our own dog died. It was a wonderful arrangement where we were basically paid (modestly) to have a part time pet, and the owners knew their dog was cared for and kept activated when they were at work or on vacation.
Just look it up and see if there's one near you. A lot of single people have jobs and don't want to leave their dog home alone for hours each day, so they have their dog stay at a daycare to play with other dogs while the human is at work. A lot of them are pretty professional too taking care of anywhere from 60-100 dogs at a time. They also do stuff like make sure the dogs are up to date on their shots, grooming services, overnight stays, cameras to let owners check on their dogs. It definitely depends on your area though. Just try looking it up and calling to see if they have an opening.
I’ve never meet a more energetic or silly golden retriever , all he wants to do when he sees me is jump onto me and lick me , he is ALWAYS smiling , surprisingly he’s also one of the smallest adult goldens I’ve seen , he had to be put into the medium dog section because the other dogs in the big room were humping and bullying him , only explanation I’ve been able to find for his smaller size is he could have been the runt of the litter
Reiterating.
I am so fricking jealous.
This is making me want to say frick it, stop being a programmer, and open a dog daycare.
Frick.
its ok anon
Someone I know on discord used to work at one.

Cute dog but also that chair.
Do you know that these are actually highly sought after classic designer chairs?
Wait dog day care is a thing,,? And how can you become a dog day care baby sitter,,,?
Yes, they've been around for a while. I think most of them will hire inexperienced people too.
