SLUG THREAD

Accidentally poked what I believe to have been a Carolina Mantleslug off his perch when I was moving some fallen wood out of the road this afternoon, which got me thinking.
>Man, this is the first time I've ever actually seen a slug in person

I stepped on a slug while I was barefoot once and it is easily one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've ever had, it made this loud-ass crunch and not even soap could get the slime off of my foot

Oh and I saw a huge Banana slug when I was camping once, pic related

There was a slug on my leg at a house party the other night. I went in the garden to get some fresh herbs to add to my drink and I come back in with a slug on my leg.

Found a super large great gray slug. I love how after they slide on my hands my skin feels hydrated and healthy.

Are there any other large slugs in the Midwest besides great gray slugs? I found a large brown one but it does not carry the same color patterns.

What can I say, it's not every day that I'm moving rotten tree trunks out of the middle of the road.

Seen a few, but usually would just see the trails on the sidewalk in the morning walking to school, loved the way they shone in the early sun.

    How to cook slugs
    grab with gloves
    boil them up
    rub with salt
    remove internal organs
    rub with salt again
mix up with vinegar, onions sauce and sugar
    serve and eat

Slugs have internal organs? I thought they just assimilated biomass into their bodies like amoebas

That is a very impressively fat slug

we get regular little brown slugs here pretty often, I usually just toss them over the fence into the vacant neighbour's property because they eat garden plants. I visited cousins that live on the coast once and there were hundreds of huge spotted banana slugs in their yard, it was insane. You couldn't walk across the grass without stepping on them unless you were really careful. It was kinda cool, but also fucking disgusting.

Not sure, it's always been snails for me. Which is kind of surprising since I live in Florida. It was an interesting little creature though.

The only time I've seen slugs is when I would visit my grandparents in England, they were common in the gardens over there
