I always wonder how they can be so precise with catching prey when their eyes are on the side of their head. Don't they have a blind spot in front of them where the beak is?

The eyes are wide enough apart to see down the sides of their beak and in front of them.

I think it goes into shock after getting swallowed or else that would happen like every time something with teeth got swallowed by something

Birds have a huge muscle and a storage sac in their esophagous, where they also swallow rocks and keep in there. If you put pumice pebbles in the garden, birds will come swallow them because they are rough and lightweight. Not sure pelicans try to kill before swallowing. They also seem to have a large opening that would take in a lot of air. So probably ratto got swallowed into a hard muscular cavity, with the orifice of the stomach right there, it would be ground against the rocks until it was soft and stopped struggling, then plopped into the acid

I usually see GBHs suffocated food before swallowing it. It can be dangerous to not kill the prey first. But I often see Pelicans swallow things immediately, maybe because they aren't on the beach so suffocating is not really possible.

It's more of a was thing. God wasn't really "righteous" or "good" as we understand it before Jesus. He was just an all powerful being people worshiped out of fear. He distinctly lacked empathy or compassion for all but a few. Most of creation predates this relatively recent change in his temperament and some people still believe he's like that demanding sacrifices of blood and pain playing tricks and punishing transgressions more than being a benevolent ruler. Those people are garden gnomes.
