Please, save my snail

She doesn't want to eat (last time she ate was 2 days ago), her body is darker along the edges than inside, she hardly moves and always (2 days) stays like that hanging on the cap of the terrarium upside down. There is also a part of dead shell (pic), what should I do? Please, help.

They're cool to look at, and it's nice to give something a better life. Not everything needs to be about our selfish needs. Have you never looked at a fish tank and thought it looked awesome?

Not everyone spends money on bringing a pet under your care and responsibilitya pet and thinks they're deserving of reciprocated affection for having done so.

Fishy cool, fishy pretty. Buy fishy.

I feel better confining an animal for life when it can't really think and lives for like two months.

It’s part of human nature. Our instinct makes us care for people and animals unconditionally. Even if your rational intelligence tells you something cannot love you, your emotional intelligence disagrees.

        OP

Happy to hear it, post more snail pics. How did you get into having a snail as a pet?

Here's a pic of the snail (right) with her friend, just put her back in terrarium. Thank you. I got into having snails as pets because I really like only cats and snails and I'm also allergic to cats, so the choice was obvious.

Hijacking the thread to ask this. Why do people care for animals that can't love you back?

They can't but I think they would (actually they become familiar your hands after some time, so it's some kind of affection). I don't care about it so much. This kind of pets also don't need too much of my time.

Have your snails ever mated and laid eggs for you?, that would be in your best interest if you don't want to pay more snail in case you intend on keeping a colony. I'm asking because many snails bury their eggs and so need a pretty deep substrate.

Dead shell of the snail and eggshell dust

Maybe your snails lack calcium in their diet?, It seems that you are already giving them powdered eggshell so that shouldn't be the case, but maybe if the chickens that laid the eggs had themselves a calcium deficiency the calcium content of the eggshells isn't as rich as they need. Maybe, this is just a guess.

idk much about snails but if getting a culture from a lab is out of the question to know exactly what youre dealing with i would try spraying it with a bit of diluted aquarium tetracycline and keeping the enclosure temperature cellar low with ice or in a cooled room or somthing and hoping for the best

I had a rooster get into a really bad fight with another rooster. I think its esophagus was lacerated because his crow was all fucked and he couldn't keep his neck up.

Anyways after the fight he stayed in his roost perched up pretty much 24/7 for like a week straight. I shoved some water in his face so he drank a little, but drooled most of it out.

He came back to 100% after I thought he was going to die.
