Need advice for bunnies i got

Picture shown isn’t my bunnies.

Mine are small babies about 8 wks old and dwarfs.

To put a long story short I got 3 because first I got 2 as I read they’re better in pairs. Then I saw a super fluffy one a few days later and had to get it too.

Problem is I have to spay all of them and now I’m reading that their behaviour changes a lot when their hormones kick in and they will start fighting and hating each other.

Then they have to be kept apart for many months before attempting to “re-bond” them.

I don’t know if I have the time or money to have three separate enclosures and to pay for three surgeries etc.

I get that I’m a moron but I need advice. Now I’m attached to them and even the one I like less is part of the initial brother sister duo and I feel really bad just getting rid of her.

Idk what to do:/

To top it all off I messaged the only rabbit rescue in my area asking them to recommend a vet to me and they just gave one vet (despite saying they worked with many) and when I asked about the prices they became extremely rude and said I’d have to ask her myself, I told them I don’t speak the language and I can’t talk on the phone they said too bad then you’ll have to email her. Then a few mins later they said they spoke to her and she said I’d have to call her. Like what the frick. And they were so rude to me. I don’t understand why these fricking butthole even help animals, they’re not good people. They’re probably just sadistic narcissists that unnecessarily save animals in pain just to get surgical practice. A lot of their bunnies die slow painful deaths.

I used to raise a rabbit and we just allowed her to hang out around the house and the garden alongside a Guinea pig. One day she bit a wire and died.
The guinea pig died a few years later of old age. He managed to make it up to 6.

this really comes down to how much effort you'd like to put into them. You just need to supervise whenever they're together outside of their area. they can chill in the same area but you need to be ready to separate them if shit hits the fan.
unfortunately having 3 rabbits means you need to deal with 3x the medical costs. you probably should have thought about that before impulse buying an animal. they're your responsibility now

Do you have bunnies? How bad are the medical costs idgi, why would they get sick?

yeah, I've had rabbits as pets for almost 20 years.

the most common way they can get sick is their digestive system. if they eat something they aren't supposed to then it can frick them up hardcore. they have no mechanism for vomiting so if they eat something toxic to them or indigestible (like their fur) they just need to pass it thru and hope they survive

their teeth can also be an issue but as long as you pay attention and give them lots of things to chew on their teeth should be fine

best tip I can give you is if they seem standoffish and don't wanna eat they may be experiencing a fatal bout of "GI Stasis" (do some research) lots of times if you catch it early it can be fixed with a small dose of baby gas drops, you can get them from any pharmacy basically.

Does the GI stasis happen often?

One of my bunnies does eat and stuff but seemingly a bit less than the others. She has been doing much better than when I got her about 2 weeks ago but she seems to have plateaued. She has grown a bit in size but is still very skinny while the other one became very chubby and round and also grew more than she did.

She used to be completely braindead but now she just seems.. a bit dead inside and lacking in personality

Definitely just has less energy than the others

every once in a while. It's not a long term thing, it's more like they're deathly ill and in a lot of pain for a couple days. if they've been low on energy for a while it's most likely something else

Are your bunnies free roam or do you keep them in a cage?

free roam, sometimes we had an enclosure for when I had multiple bunnies that didn't care for eachother, but made sure that they got that chance to run and explore the house.

        t. part of the problem.

OP, your task isn't an overwhelming one
        1) do some more research and find a vet that doesn't give off bad vibes, and get them spayed.
        2) get your buns bonded.
        3) give them a good home.

        4) (optional), come post in the /bun/ general

Anyone who would eagerly take them unspayed, no questions asked, probably has an animal like a snake or dog they plan on feeding them to. Pls do not just hand them off.

It sounds like you're living in a foreign country and can't speak the language. Do you have anyone you know who could help translate?

He was trying to help you since you stated multiple times that you live in a different country and mentioned not speaking the same language. He wasn’t trying to offend you.

    Part 2/2

The rescue is literally called “BUNNY RESCUE “NAME OF COUNTRY” and it’s the only one in my country. I don’t even know how someone could come up with a competing one because it wouldn’t show up in results. Those people are psycho and I bet they harassed people who tried forming a separate rescue. Not sure how to deal with that either but frick them. I don’t trust that vet at all she looks fricking evil and the other people at the “rescue” were too.

They also keep posting that they’re in desperate need of foster homes then they’re rude to anyone that messages them.
