Does anyone else have trouble seeing the eyes on these things whenever they see a picture? I always imagine the white spot as its eye as I can never see it easily, like it's a fucking xenomorph or something.
I love marine life but i have a problem with orcas, they are not as cool as sharks honestly and i hate the fact that they are above sharks in the food chain. Orcas are boring because they are pack hunters, a single animal taking down a large prey is way more impressive than multiple large ones steamrolling their victim.
Honestly it is pretty cringe to have this panda dolphin as the top ocean predator, it would make more sense to have something larger like an apex predator sperm whale or a large shark. Miocene/Pliocene was perfect, killer whales are impostor and they are at the top just because there is an empty niche waiting to be filled.
>it would make more sense to have something larger like an apex predator sperm whale or a large shark
They died because they couldn't adapt to modern oceans.
lolno. Humpback whales bully Orcas out of spite, a Megalodon would just eat them and give two shits about how many of them were around.
The oceans today do not have a predator that high up the pyramid unless you count humans.
Right because great whites are so dangerous to Orcas right. Oh wait no Orcas kill them effortlessly and eat them and they'd still eat them if they were bigger.
What niche? Megalodons were around for as long as they were because they filled every niche depending on their age and size, much like what many argue the T-rex did. Juvinile, through adolescents and adults all competed with predatory whales at varying trophic levels. Except macropredatory whales like leviathan died out whereas Megs did not.
If Orcas competed against Megs it would be against juviniles and adolescents for the 3-8m sized cetaceans. Changes in global climates due to the advent of the icea ages would restirct Megalodon nurseries, fewer juviniles and adolescents means less competition for predatory cetaceans, translating into less adult megaladons. This coupled with large whales seeking refuge in cooler waters during to calf = fewer adult Megs that had to travel further to seek out the few remaining nurseries. It was a cascading effect that got topped off by competition against great whites and orcas that made it harder for Megs at all trophic levels that caused their extinction. The root cause were drastic climate changes, yet dolphin fuckers imagine pods of orcas bullying predatory sharks bigger than any whale modern orcas can bring down (and even then they need hours to do so) which caused their extinction.
Realistically how? Their big ass heads would get in the way of them being able to bite the megalodon wouldn't they? I've always wondered how they even fight against other whales like orcas, their mouths can't possibly open that wide right? The big head makes it awkward to position for a bit and then there's the surface area of the one it's trying to bite. Just how does it work?
Unironically, they could simply click them to death with their sonar.

You're actually retarded. If that were true, they would click themselves to death all the time retard.

They're built for it, obviously. They can click human divers to death too fyi, but they hold back on their sonar when divers are around as a courtesy.

A human diver ca. 70kg
Megalodon ca. 70 000kg
A 70kg human could kill a 7g bug by finger flicking it, does not mean I can kill a guy if I finger flicked him.

A sperm whale would stun-lock the megalodon and then it would drown. If not kill it outright from brain damage.

You're beyond saving if you think a sperm whale can kill or stun an animal larger than itself by clicking at it. Sure is weird that Orcas sometimes attack sperm whales, since by your logic they could just outright kill them with their clicks.
Retard, sharks can get killed by being ram. Sperm whales and even a specialized orca pod would have a mega killed just by internal injuries, who do sharkfag fail to understand how sharks work

I'm not a sharkfag. I'm just confused about hydro combat. Don't whales move a bit too slow in the water to really make a good ram?

Yeah nice theory bro, except there are numerous kinds of whales and dolphin and they ALL dominate all other fish. The only thing they have to fear is each other.

Getting real sick of this orcafag spamming the board, please let your autism find a new outlet.
That because sharks are dumb overgrown fish and orcas are mammals like us.
Reminder that convergent evolution decisively proves the Platonic doctrine of Forms.
Shylily is equally as good at being as cute as Gawr Gura.

tooth that have been ground down from going schizo and biting the wall of its enclosure for stimulation

Gura is way cuter AND sexier.

Orcas are far far far better than stupid sharks
>it would make more sense to have something larger like an apex predator sperm whale or a large shark
They died because they couldn't adapt to modern oceans.
we need to bring them back
Sharks have been doing shark things long before orcas came along.
Orcas just filled the niche giant marine reptiles like mosasaurus filled
Also the niche that Megalodon filled
