I'm not delusional, if you get this American fighting dog you should have the right expectations. They're more like wolf hybrids than regular dogs.
They are bad. Been dealing with dogs for 25 years. Pitbulls are bred to fight, bite and killl. Yes some people raise them gently, but it is against the dogs instincts. Its like trying to train a loud alert breed to be quiet. Except when you frick up the training they frick people up.
"normal" ones are fine but 99% of pitbulls in existence are Black person bred status dogs of the SMASHED AND SLAMMED variety

They can be high risk but that's mostly due to the owners and that specific types are bred for loyalty. You really just know need to train them real well and also get them used to high stress areas young. Animals don't really have soft spots for kids like us, if a kid runs up on a dog, they're gonna react the same as to anything else. I'm sure some are just gonna be dangerous but you'd find a dangerous individual in any grouping of lifeforms. There's definitely a pattern but it's not as extreme as painted and usually have higher numbers because of those who train them or, again, acting in loyalty or self preservation. Basically, they can be dangerous, as any other breed, with stronger factors making the results worse (ex. stronger bites, leg muscles) but they really don't have to be if they're raised correctly.

Meh. Most of them are actually alright. Problem is that they are way too common, they don’t serve any real purpose outside of hunting pigs, and the only people breeding them are trailer trash and hood rats that typically leave them chained in the yard or on the porch and put zero effort into training or caring for them so they end up biting whatever they can get their teeth on like their trash owners wanted them to. Then when one bites a toddler and the rest of the dogs get chucked in the shelter some dumb suburban b***h that watches pitbulls and parolees adopts one and it yanks loose from her extending leash the tragedy spreads into good neighborhoods.
