I was cleaning my aquarium a few days ago and accidentally hit some echinoderm (I have a sea cucumber, brittle star, and sea urchin) and got a spine stuck inside my hand. It's been there for the last 3 days. I can not remove it without cutting into myself. It's right by my knuckle and it's all red but the center is yellowy pus and you can see a tiny spec of the spine. What the frick am i supposed to do?
Just leave it in there and wait for my body to push it out? It hurts a fricking lot

Iv had plenty of thorns and medium sized splinters get under my skin. Eventually the body will push it to the surface and you will be able to pull it out with tweezers that you cleaned with alcohol beforehand. Your parent's probably know this and are trying to prevent you from wasting a bunch of money to have a doctor tell you this and send you on your way without doing anything.

Im getting the vibe you and your family are a bit dense so let me break this down for you. You have a bit of an animal inside you. You need to remove it immediately and clean the wound with neosporin or some other over the counter antibiotic ointment. You should either use disinfected tweezers or any other small instrument. If you can't do this and/or the area keeps visibly getting worse you need to see a professional. If the wound is already leaking puss you've already waited too long and need to do something soon.
sterilize a sewing needle and use it to dig it out yourself. Hydroperoxide / alcohol it afterwards. I've dug all sorts of splinters out my hands over the years using this method and it always works.
