I think clickbait journalists who can't even read the articles they're quoting need to be rounded and shot.

There's a quote about inaccurate science reporting in the media, it's something like this:

    >"This happens for one of two reasons; either the person doing the reporting has a media studies degree and doesn't know how science works, or the person doing the reporting has a media studies degree and doesn't care how science works."

It's true, with their collective final breath the dinosaurs forever cursed the mammal lineage like how Fafnir cursed the ring in his death

Don't worry. Fertility rates are dropping in humans, we are evolving like turtles again.

People who fall for it are more to blame. Or maybe the educational system. Even the clickbaiters. A lot are at fault. There's very little scientific literacy. Assuming the creationists I've talked to are genuine, I can hardly blame them for not believing in things like evolution when most of them understand it to work like Pokemon or simply have no clue what the theory even says and describe it in terms so utterly ridiculous it sounds like magic. People can and should do better to help people actually understand the ideas conveyed. We're making a generation of mental cripples with the way it's going.

      >I can hardly blame them for not believing in things like evolution when most of them understand it to work like Pokemon
yeah they can't be helped. being as religious as they are is strongly correlated with low IQ. they don't care about broadening their horizons and understanding the world, they just want to tell you that your understanding is wrong because...it just is. normal people understand evolution at a depth that is just fine for the layperson

To illustrate your point many people who believe also have fantastical beliefs about what it entails. I've spoken to several people who believed evolution meant organisms magically willed new beneficial features into their children.

More of a Wauf complaint, but I also hate how articles about scientific discoveries are always either:
    >this new discovery is the greatest thing ever, flying cars in a year
When the authors clearly say that they aren't 100% on the results and probably someone should double check and also the practical applicationa are limited for now
    or
    >this changes everything we know about [field], literally everyone who lived to this point was wrong about literally everything
when that's clearly not how it works

Some things just never change. Remember the whole hoo ha about LK99 just earlier this year that turned out to be a nothingburger? There is no spectrum for integrity amongst journos, it's either they have any or none at all.

Oh god. This one hurt doubly, because a good friend of mine is currently doing his PHD in a related field and hearing from him how it's totally overblown was even more eye opening.
No wonder so many people are skeptical of science, when all the reporting on it either implies that there's a total revolution in a field every couple of years, or we constantly hear promises of great, live changing discoveries that never come true.

What is this even trying to imply? Selective pressures of mammalian evolution alongside dinosaurs forcing us into shorter lifespans? Plastic in our blood? A curse? What?

ghosts of dinosaurs haven't disappeared and they still hunt us and it's what causes us to age as they eat our living energy
