give me?

I won't waste your time with the same sad story about being a self-loathing pessimistic virgin NEET. I posted on Wauf and /adv/, and while reading and excercise helps, any sudden break destroy the routine causing a complete relapse. I realised I need something interactive, something that forces me to take responsibility. Wauf seems perfect for that. What do you guys recommend? Should I just buy a dog?

Mycology. It forces you to keep your house clean and allows you to see progress day by day at each different step of cultivation. Its is also a scaleble hobby from cheap still air boxes and monotubs to full on labatory setups for creating whole new strains/varieties of muhsrooms for less than $1000. There are hundreds of guides online and vendors to choose from.

Assuming you have some sort of yard, grab a few outdoor cameras that you can check in with on your phone, not going to shill any brand because a lot of them are subscription-based but you can always jail break them when the trial runs out. The one I use lets you know if its a person, animal or vehicle.

you should feed the birds around your house and watch them. get to know them. you have to keep up with it but it's really satisfying, they're lovely little creatures. not nearly as demanding as actually owning a pet though, which is nice.

Making bee hotels? It's good for the environment and I found it interesting to look into. Apparently the bee hotels in stores are shit and it takes a little more effort to do it properly.

Don't buy a dog if you don't intend to hunt with it. If you are a virgin and NEET better don't buy a dog at all

      Birdwatching.

I actually did this informally once at a tree right near my window, hated it because I got attached to a couple that were likely building a nest. One day they just disappear, no trace of them anywhere, no idea if they died. I still look for them time to time. Worst kind of feeling, not having any closure.

You could also do what boomers do and get into bird photography. That way you're not attached to the birds, but you feel forced to participate because even the shittiest, least pleasant while not being terribad bird photography kit like a canon 5diii/80d and 100-400 L or some noisy phone photo looking micro four thirds shit costs as much as a 90s honda civic and resale always loses 20% at least because almost no one wants it.

That is what I do. It is very fun if you have some money. I spent like 1500 on a camera and lens and I go on trips all around the US and photograph rare and unique birds. It is a very fun hobby.

I spent a couple months watching a bird build a nest, find a mate, lay eggs, die in a freezing rainstorm, then get torn apart and eaten by crows. The circle of life is beautiful.

Watching birds can teach you a lot about life. This happens all the time. Birds die a lot. But then you realize they don't care. They just keep going. Lost a mate? Find another one. Eggs eaten by raccoon? Lay more. Caught by a hawk and being plucked alive? Goodbye cruel world.

the elites fear autistic dog owners because they are immune to propaganda and control. and worst of all, they have loyalty to something that has no loyalty to money or violence, because it's too small brained to care. they would rather you surround yourself with people and never anything but people, fear the briefest period of isolation, and cave to peer pressure to keep their propaganda maximally effective.

just remember that even if you dont use your dog for work, you should be able to, that makes the "elites" seethe

Make an inaturalist account, go on some hikes and start photographing and cataloguing all the critters, plants and fungi you find. The community there will also help you with IDs as long as the photos are decent. It's pretty fun to discover how much cool stuff lives in your area if you pay attention to it and it feels nice to look at your growing collection of encounters.

How about setting up an aquarium?
-Research cool plants and fish/ shrimps etc
-Create and manage your own ecosystem
-Set it up right and you can spend most of your time just enjoying it with very little maintenance (which isn't that hard)
-tanks comes in a variety of sizes
-can generally be left unattended if you need to leave for a few days

This is a great suggestion as well

Do you have a budget and any good walking/wildlife areas close by?

Money is not an issue, experience is. I am a complete beginner, I don't want to kill living beings, even insects by being inexperienced.

I was going to say just do birdwatching, but 's idea is all that and more. It's fun to start a photo collection of stuff you've seen in person and you get to discover lots of new places around you you probably never knew existed. It's pretty easy if you have at the very least a bicycle and you don't need a lot of start-up gear, though binoculars would help and obviously a camera though to start just your phone is probably fine.
