Hyenas are better hunters than lions and lions usually scavenge off of hyenas. If anything, hyenas are going to drive lions extinct.

Because lions are more capable of dominating hyenas than vice-versa. Pantherines tend to be the dominant land predators wherever they occur. If they had higher visual/spatial acuity they'd be unstoppable.
Nothing will happen to them, they won't evolve ever again. They've become too dependant on humans and this dependence will only grow as their habitats shrink to include only protected natural reserves. This will forever remove any evolutionary pressure short of sudden climate change on a planetary scale.
