I was going to report it but the website says it needs my name address and email so I won't do it
And I'm not sure who will. I was even willing to collect the specimen the way they described
But I don't need the government coming and sniffing around my house because I know it'll be something like "yeah see those trees in the yard? They're infested so you need to remove them at your own cost or we'll fine you"
They're ugly, even by lanternfly standards. There are way more impressive subspecies out there than the spotted lanternfly with its sickly brown wings and black body.
They likely wouldn't be successful. The Chinese lanternfly really exploded because the US has an abundant population of Chinese Ailanthus trees, which is less of a tree and more of a weed that can grow anywhere. It makes sense that the shittiest looking lanternfly species feeds on shitty fake Sumac. Also makes sense that both come from China.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
>pro-social behavior? That's for libtards!
never do anything unless it solves every issue completely
I hope you know that the basedjak you just posted has made the board a little worse for everybody.
Hide your Ailanthus.
saw my first one yesterday. Pretty bummed out to know these invasive creature are spreading.
Dammit! It's so beautiful I can't do it!!
reminder that the species originates from China. hope this makes your decision easier
Are you suggesting OP cooks it?
I chuckled
The deed is done and I feel terrible about it
They're large enough that it feels like you're killing something significant
a significant pest, yes
You did good OP. We need more people like you protecting our ecosystems.

You have made a grave and terrible mistake. You, your family and your future kin will suffer greatly for what you have done here today.
oh shit spotted lantern flies have invaded the thread
So? America is the land of invasive species at this point.
