I lowered the pricing on my paintings drastically but nobody is buying still. Any tips?

Anyone can take a picture of their dog and then run it through an AI to get a water colour version

man, you got to be moronic to be able to draw like this and not do furry smut. learn how to paint digitally and anthropomorphize your drawings a bit and furries will literally throw their money at you.

Add tags like obituary to your promotion, I'd wager that people would commission you to make portraits of their deceased pets, moreso than their living ones.

My personal opinion, your style is too realistic for normies. I think most non-art people would see your work and think "i could just take a portrait picture". It's really enjoyable though, it's not bad. Maybe think about what you like about animals and charicaturize that characteristic of animals you like.

How many commissions do you do per month?

Are you advertising on boomerbook? I find that older people are much more interested in having pet portraits done than anyone. If that doesn't work you may have to expand your skills. AI hasn't killed commissions by any means but you're stuck in a very saturated market. Pet portraits are the thing I see everyone and their mother attempting for quick cash.

You are like 10 years late anon. There are apps and filters that can do that nowadays.
And now with AI around, drawing skills are useless.

      # It varies pretty wildly month to month based on what comes in and how often I’m able to make myself sit down and paint, and how many i can complete in a day (usually 1 but sometimes as many as 3 dogs). My income is wildly und stable and unpredictable so I can have my worst month immediately after one of my best unfortunately. And I’m terrible at saving and managing money

Welcome to freelance art. It will always be feast or famine.
You need additional gigs that pays regularly. Make friends with the art director at a greeting card company or something.
        >And I’m terrible at saving and managing money
There is no excuse for living outside your means.

Turn that skill into drawing furry art, makes way more money. You don't even need to draw porn (but you probably should if you want to make a shit ton of money)

The people with money to waste on a custom pet picture can also easily satisfy their pet picture wants without all the hassle and wait involved in a commission.
You would be better off to advertise to a market that “has” to hire someone else to turn their wants into reality, like

your problem is a STEM gay with a $3000 nikon camera can offer what you do but with consistently high quality and much larger canvas sizes while requiring 0 skill so you don’t offer that much
