If you find a tusk shouldn't there also be the rest of the skeleton buried there?

It looks like if you pulled on his nose it would act like a spring and separate into one curvy piece of rubber, and then when you let go it would bounce back and send little waves through the rest of the elephant, like a rubber slinky nose, you could say.

Pretty sure that price goes way up for such a good quality whole tusk. I raise .y guess to 750k bucks.

Well, ideally you would start by making friends with landowners in alaska, so they give you permission to hunt for the tusks on their land. Acquiring some sort of ground scanning radar may also be helpful.

After finding a tusk I would give a specialized tusk appraiser a call to see what sort of price he would estimate your tusk is worth.

Finally you can request it be sold at a prestigious auction house like sotheby's.

Then give your promised cut to the land owners, and finally...

Buy 12 strippers to do drugs with you in the penthouse room you rented to celebrate making so much money.

              Basedington sir. Appreciate the input.

I am sure the laws are different in Alaska rather than Canada. If you find one here I bet you have to donate it to the local chug tribe

You sound knowledgeable, any experience yourself?

Absolutely zero experience. Figured that route may be somewhat feasible based on the small bit of information I've heard about tusking.
