        The effect of pressure differential. You lift a fish from deep waters to the surface, the pressure changes by several atmospheres, which results in a bloated appearance with eyes bulging out etc. The fish doesn't look like that normally in it's own environment. It's quite literally been blown up.

        Kinda like if you were put into the vacuum if space, only worse, since the pressure difference is even greater. 50 meters below water the pressure already approximately 6 atmospheres.

        look up the blobfish in its natural habitat, it's just like a normal fish

      Probably pretty similar. Chondrichthyans like sharks, rays, and chimeras don’t tend expand as much due to not utilizing as much gas in their bodies as fish. Fish for example have gas filled swim bladders whereas chondrichthyans use urea for buoyancy. Moreover, some chimeras will show up in shallower waters if it’s coldish.
