Do i literally just have to spend hundreds of dollars on cat fountains until i find one my cat will use?

I use a plastic one for both my cats and it's fine as long as you clean it properly i.e. twice a week. it has a mechanical carbon filter, and if you keep it at a high water level it won't make much noise.

What is that one called or what brand is it?

this model is actually exclusive to a petstore in brazil but any should be good as long as it has some filtering.
my cats love tapwater but i had to stop giving them tapwater for like 1 week and exclusively drinking from the fountain for them to stop trying to play with it. i wonder if drinking the water in front of them also helps, i did do it because im a moron but yea you get the point
          sorry for blogposting

I had this exact fountain. It works as advertised, the water flows out from the flower. My cats were too moronic to drink from it though. Now I have water bowls with gravity-fed reservoirs.

homie it's just a fountain. there's nothing special about them, just get a stainless steel one that is relatively quiet and you're good to go. I looked up a few of them on amazon and the reviews aren't that bad do you expect a 5 star rating from 10k+ purchase? that's impossible.

Also you haven't even said what you really want from it. Proximity sensors? Capacity? Type of filters? etc. Don't just come here screaming hurr durr please read my mind give me what I want like a moron gorilla

I just want someone who had tried multiple to discuss the kens they’ve tried

I just want it to last and be easy to clean ig idk

Most bad reviews say the pump breaks or it’s too loud or the cat doesn’t like it so one that’s not like that would be good

Dammit maybe I should’ve gotten them the regular green one instead idk

But it’s very high and I think they would like one that resembles their regular bowl more

Ree my cat seems to not like this one

Easy answer. It's not made of plastic and it can go in the dishwasher.

Do you actually have this? How long have you had it?

Couple months. I really doubt anything is going to fail on it any time soon, and it's only like $30 so if I had to replace it in a couple years that'd be fine.

Idk I saw some of the reviews say the pump fails or something.

Has your cat tried other fountains before?

Cats are highly polarized on fountains - they either love them or hate them. For example my male cat will cry to drink from the sink faucet, but he's completely baffled by a fountain bowl.

It seems universal that cats love the faucet for some reason.
Someone needs to make a fountain that looks exactly like a bathroom faucet

Is there anything supposed to be special about them? You could just take a bowl and stick an aquarium pump in it.

In nature cats drink from stream and not still water, so it’s supposed to encourage them to drink more

Especially useful if cat is prone to kidney issues like mine.

Idk if she’ll warm up to it but she doesn’t seem to like it so far
