>can't let them roam because they will devastate the local ecosystem
As a cat lover, what the hell am I supposed to do? I already have the cat which complicates things.

If you buy cat litter that isn't the absolute cheapest shit, it won't smell like ammonia.

If you buy a cat litter tray that isn't the absolute cheapest variety, your guests won't notice its presence.

If you clean up the cat shit daily, your house won't smell like a cat house.

The "natural lifestyle" of a pet animal, especially a domesticated one, is not a thing.

Just my opinion but killing some mice and overpopulated bird feeder denizens isn't going to kill the ecosystem if you are in a mainland country.

    >>can't keep them indoors because it's unsanitary and cruel to deprive them of their natural lifestyle
It's not unsanitary if you know how to clean your home. It's not cruel if you know how to play with and entertain the animal. Are you sure you're a cat lover and not just a moron?

    Ha, imagine believing in fiction.
Your ecosystem is already fricked from all the pesticides and bullshit. Doesn't fit the narrative though so it's ignored.

My cat dragged in 2 squirrels and 5 small rodents in the last two weeks alone. I don't know how people don't see the issue.

        >Kitty cat as a mobile bug
        >»Acoustic Kitty« was a project of the CIA in the 1960s. The goal was to use prepared cats to sneak up on people and listen to their conversations.
        >Intelligence technicians equipped the cats with espionage technology in a surgical operation.
        > The microphones were in the ear canal, the antenna ran over the spine to the tail. However, the uncontrollable behavior of cats proved to be a major problem for targeted bugging operations.
        > A target for testing Acoustic Kitty was the Soviet Embassy in Washington. There, a cat was supposed to overhear two diplomats on a park bench. In an unobtrusive van, CIA officers drove the cat close to the scene and deployed it.
        >The project ended tragically: After only a few meters, the cat, who had been operated and
trained with much effort, was run over by a taxi.
        >The project was considered failed and ended in 1967. The cost was about $ 20 million.

Anon, cats are domesticated by now, they're very happy indoor. Just make sure to give them toys and stimulation.

      >by now
For the past 10,000 years. They’re meant to live exclusively indoors, in single room stone walled structures where rats have nowhere to hide.

Roaming cats are just convenient vermin for people too lazy to breed cats on purpose. They don’t have an immediately apparent effect on people (the problem comes from the parasites in their shit, inb4 have perfect hygiene and food safety, no moron that’s not how life works).

Keeping anything inside your home outside of a cage or tank that doesn't wash itself after defecation is unsanitary. Doesn't matter what it is.

no it isn't, unless you have AIDS or are otherwise unfit for existence. it's only sort of an issue if they eat wild animals.

grow an immune system you fricking sissy
        oh who cares
you'll die in the first shortage of literally anything. you're the kind of person that actually needs flu shots aren't you?

          >muh immune system
so you lick toilet seats for the immune system boost, right? because ingesting or being exposed to fecal matter is not problematic and is actually healthy, right?

It's a fricking cat. It's probably cleaning itself more than you are. Most of their day is spent sleeping and cleaning.

licking your anus and genitals and then licking the entire rest of your body is probably not an acceptable alternative to washing yourself with running water. I will agree that cats have good hygiene compared to most animals, but it's not nearly good enough to be napping on my pillow.

            >So you stand 5 feet away from the surface of the sun to gear up for summer HUH moron?
            Idiot.

If I lick toilets, I get sick
If I pet a cat, I do not get sick
If I pet a dog, I do not get sick
This is how life is for people who do not have AIDS or non self inflicted life-ruining immune system deficits
And this is psychologically tolerable to people who are not dysfunctional neurotic messes because we KNOW we won't get sick and neither does anyone else healthy

Go hike out into the woods. Touch grass. Shit in a hole. You are an actual fricking sissy. Are you on estrogen yet? You sound like you're basically made of it.

If you are a subhuman with no immune system then you're on the wrong board

It is of course not impossible to keep the house clean and not stink of cat piss (or dog or almost any other let) but it is very expensive, most cat owners are poor and/or laze and are used to the smell and don't even notice it anymore
