What's the main difference between a German Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois?
Also, I know both are used in law enforcement/military. Never had any experience at all handling these dogs before yesterday and came to appreciate the power behind these animals once I played around with a Belgian Malinois at a friends and experienced its bite force. Even though it was all play biting and rough housing I experienced extreme bruises on my arms and some lacerations on my hands just from playing around. Beautiful dog mind you. Wasn't his fault. Had a good time. I was then reminded not to 'rile' him up. What is it about this breed that makes them a good "Family" pet or any less dangerous than a Pitbull for example when NAVY Seals use these dogs?
GSD is the more stable while Malinois tend to be more hectic. Malinois as the smoller dog is also more athletic. With GSD there is a realy HUGE difference between work and showlines.
Big difference is mal has saggier nuts
I don't see any nuts in OP
nice tongues
why are you looking at their tongues anon
Why not?
Why do canids do this?
something something trust something social bonding.
Now I have a question for you: why does it give me a boner?
It's asking her to regurgitate some food for it. Like, Oh, hey, you just got here, have you been hunting? Do you have a full belly? Can I have some.
Licking is gross.
Yes, and when humans hug, they are requesting breast milk.
Wolves have pretty good breath apparently
>i'd trust a game bred pitbull to be friendly over a neurotic attack dog like a belgian malinois
Fucking lmfao enjoy your toddlers being killed for food.
> they need to be handled all the way from back when they actually fought in the pit and a referee would handle the dogs in the pit
Yes they were beaten, horrifically, into absolute submission and kept chained whenever possible. I mean horrifically. If a pitbull moved with permission it would bleed. These were not dogs you put down when that made them mean, they were hit even harder.
Infants do it for another reason but adults do it as a mutual trust behavior (their most potent weapons and most sensitive body parts right up against each other) that also allows them to smell where they've been so exactly like a human hug
>Wolves have pretty good breath apparently
They eat almost purely meat so yeah it's way less unpleasant than dog breath; dogs get bad breath because of what's in dog food + the way that it's made. I still wouldn't let one just go to town on my mouth like that.
Dogs also have bad breath because most owners don't brush their teeth
My dog gets to kiss only after he's had his teeth brushed
Bro why is she just taking it like that
>What is it about this breed that makes them a good "Family" pet
They're nice dogs, and safer than pitbulls because they weren't specifically bred to kill randomly, but they're not really "good family pets" unless you know how to train it and have the time to keep it busy
I have relatives who bought one because it looked cool, they're having a pretty tough time with it
Modern malinois are extremely high energy handler-focused dogs which makes them good for strict obedience jobs but bad for any job that requires any sort of independent thinking
They're more robotic than most breeds which makes training and working easier
They used to be a lot more similar to GSDs or dutch shepherds
>muh navy seal dog
summerfag detected go back to school child
>Even though it was all play biting and rough housing I experienced extreme bruises on my arms and some lacerations on my hands just from playing around
Poor socialization, a properly socialized malinois has the restraint to be as gentle as a baby with bare skin regardless of "riling up" unless commanded not to
>What is it about this breed that makes them a good "Family" pet or any less dangerous than a Pitbull
There are countless dogs that do more damage than a pitbull. What make pits dangerous is that they they can flip into maul-mode at any time for any reason.
A Gsd with a good temperment is just a beginner friendly mal.
I breed my very recently dead white German shepherd with malinois. They are more energetic and more affectionate to the point of selfishness.
Malinois are more effective at signalling your five incher to the world. Otherwise similar
Malinois are healthier, closer to the original GSD before west germans and amerifats turned it into a discount mastiff, and it makes these people projecting their small pp issues seethe.
>why less dangerous than a pitbull
Because you can trust a trained malinois, they just bite really hard
Pitbulls have a disordered form of predatory instincts so they recognize anything from other dogs to adult humans as prey and unlike most prey driven dogs, omit the stalking sequence and appear to "just snap".
>so they recognize anything from other dogs to adult humans as prey
i'd trust a game bred pitbull to be friendly over a neurotic attack dog like a belgian malinois
it's not true at all that they see humans as prey they need to be handled all the way from back when they actually fought in the pit and a referee would handle the dogs in the pit
they are more untrustworthy of strangers rather than just be super aggressive and try and attack people like a guard dog would
also one breeder might not be able to tend to all the dogs on his yard so he needs help watering, feeding, exercising the dogs so they can't just go crazy and randomly bite people also they may need to go to vet or the bugman comes onto the yard to stop flees etc etc...
also they are used in hog hunting often a breeder would loan out his dogs to a pig hunter to have them catch hogs in order to prove they are doing their job "i have proven dogs ask (insert hog hunter) he hunted them" makes them more desirable
i am referring to game bred pitbulls not all the other random shit like xl pitbulls or whatever they are calling bandogs these days
