We are natural carnivores. If you care about yourself and value your health, you have to eat meat. If you want to develop nutrient deficiencies and waste away, go vegan.

You can't be moral as a meat eater.

I don't really care about the moral principles of a group that rewrites morality on a whim.

moral conversations with vegans be like
        >its about the animals!
        >why?
        >because suffering is wrong
        >how much do you do to avoid contributing to human suffering in agriculture and manufacturing
        >it's about the animals
        >why
        >because humans are demons
        >start with yourself?
        >no im special
        >so can you tell me why suffering was wrong exactly and what proof you had these things suffered
        >vishnu strike you down

I eat meat in communal settings, but I usually choose to abstain from meats when I'm purchasing and preparing my own food. When I was in Mongolia, though, a local family wanted to prepare a feast for me from their sheep herd, so I was sure to witness the slaughter firsthand. I don't want to be a hypocrite, nor do I want to oppose my luxurious ethics on a people who were attempting to show me much hospitality and respect.

    I love animals
I love looking at them so I support the zoo
I love the things animals do for me like provide dairy and meat
I love playing with them so I support having pets
I would never try to get rid of animals
Why do you assume everyone should love the same way you do?

I sorta kinda am. I became vegan some time ago but I still buy animal meat to feed my dog so I do in a way cause animal suffering. also, high dose b12 shots are a thing to consider even if you are not a vegan....

Only meateaters can truly appreciate and love nature, because they understand it's brutality and the cycle of life and death. Vegans don't actually care or know about nature, they just imagine disney movies with talking animals. Meatchads see nature for what it is in its entirety and accept it, while vegans live in a delusional fantasyland.

Personally I think about how we've kind of created an artificial nature with our animals which can lead to happier animals at least happier cows and sheep
Chickens live horrible lives though same with pigs

the most long winded is about what, feed efficiency?

last time i saw vegans trying to say that your future self and a cow were ethically equivalent so you’re obligated to treat them equally because picking and choosing is bad because it is ok (insert soijak here). now THAT is mental gymnastics.

I love animals, but I understand the necessary evil of livestock and there are ways to slaughter them in a relatively humane fashion. Loving animals and eating meat is not a mutually exclusive dichotomy.

We've been eating meat since we crawled out of caves, factory farming should be banned but I'm not going to give up meat no matter how many fingers you wag at me.

I'll go out and hug my chickens good night and give them all a little treat, making sure their coop is secure and the heat lamps are running to keep them from getting too cold in the winter. Then I'll walk inside and cook up some chicken tendies. Some chickens are important to me on a personal level others are food. Some humans are important to me, and others I could care less if they're killed in some shit hole

Worth more alive than dead and worth more absent than dead as well. Carnivores turn a lot of food humans can digest into almost nothing and are worthless as material resources. Even for fur, cows and caribou are better providers of durable, warm hides.

        Anonymous

        >caribou
Do farmed caribou really make up a significant percentage of hide products? I always assumed it was all cow.

I don't need to justify eating meat.
    >B-BUT
Unless you are a Ted Kaczynski ascetic who grows, produces, refines, and manufactures everything you use in your life, you are a hypocritical homosexual who participates in the perpetuating cycle of death and destruction, yet you actively choose to only think about one small part of it. Your lifestyle is built upon decadence and industrialized rape. And you, as one person, will never fight against that. The most you will do is b***h and whine on this Cambodian sock puppet agora about how someone likes charcuterie.
There is no point in arguing this over and over because it will always boil down to the vegans shitting and pissing their pants that people touch animals for reasons other than to pet them and future mass murderers will crawl out of the wood works to retort with Chinese dog abuser-tier comments.

      Not much I can do

Yeah I think killing animals for bacon is fine
The problem is that the industrial farming process causes a lot of suffering to pigs so the bacon you eat is a product of suffering
Death is not suffering, animals do not have a right to life and it's not possible to 'exploit' animals

I think people get like this when they try to apply rights to animals
So a chicken has the right to the eggs that it lays and unless the chicken can consent to giving it to you, it's a violation of the chicken's rights to take it away
In the same way any animal has the right to its life and killing that animal is violating its right to life

I don’t love all animals. I love some animals enough to preserve them. I love some animals more as food. Others should just be boiled down into protein meal and fed to something i like more.

This is what morons don't get.

I love my family. Doesn't mean I love ALL people and families. In fact I fricking hate a shit ton of them. This can be applied to practically everything. Do I like music? Yes. Do I like ALL music? No.

Could we have better farming and livestock practices? Absolutely. Not going to stop eating meat though.
