Definitely shark attack by modest swarm of modest size sharks. Takes forever to have to most painful death imaginable.

Maybe getting spine broken by bear and then eaten alive by its cubs. But that takes some shit luck

I guess if spine broken you don’t feel pain? Bear attack probably results in rapid shock and blood loss anyways. Bad idea scratch that

Swarm of flesh eating March Flies.
God dammit, getting hundreds of these while camping in the middle of nowhere in the Gascoyne around Octoberish is a hell I cannot recommend less. For the love of God do not go to NW Aus during sept - jan, it is pure hellish.
These things were swarming and killing rats I swear.

Australia, not even the fricking flies are safe. Fark me.

I am just starting to appreciate the hell abos dealt with here daily.
No wonder they didn't invent shit when you're too worry about a fly biting your butthole. You've got:
    >a deadly snake or spider in the bush,
    >sharks, crocs and deadly jellyfish in the water,
    >a lack of water,
    >poisonous food everywhere (including the animals that have eaten the food - especially mackerel and roos),
    >poisonous AND venomous plants,
    >45C in summer,
    >algae problems in water that you do manage to find (assuming it's not just a salt lake like most fricking lakes in this area),
    >bushfires and trees that actively encourage them with fuel,
    >sporadic flash floods when it finally does fricking rain,
    >plagues of locusts and other bugs, many probably bite people,
    >Eagles large enough to kill roos and attack people (they still attack gliders to this day),
    >rocks made of fricking asbestos and radioactive materials,
    >mosquitos, disease,
    >AND these motherfricking flesh eating flies.

I don't think a single race of humans ever dealt with the shit the people of this country deal with. Half that crap you can't even see coming because it's too small or smallish and well camo'd or just the weather itself.

now that i think about it.. freezing to death.. or slow blood loss. dehydrating while probably not great is better than a lot of alternatives.

Dehydration actually really sucks due to all the painful muscle spasms and convulsions you get when your body starts shutting down from it

having your skull crushed or your neck snapped by a jaguar probably isn't too bad as far as animal kingdom deaths go. I can't really think of anything else that can offer a clean kill.

        Anonymous

While having your skull crushed or your neck snapped by a jaguar may not be the most pleasant way to die, there are definitely worse ways to go in the animal kingdom. For example, being slowly devoured alive by ants or being slowly digested over the course of several days after being swallowed whole by a snake are both much more agonizing ways to die.

          Anonymous

you die within minutes if not several seconds after being swallowed by anything; you either get crushed to death or asphyxiate. there is little to zero oxygen in the throat or stomach.

This is not always the case. If you are swallowed by something large enough, you may be able to survive for a short period of time. There have been reports of people surviving after being swallowed by large animals.

Being hunted by an Afican Wild Dog pack
    >Dogs are stamina runners that can keep a steady and fast pace
    >They work in relay so when the front dog tires, the one behind picks up the pace and takes its place
    >Chases often end with the exhausted prey desperately diving for safety in a body of water
    >Either drowns, gets eaten by a croc or crawls to shore where the dogs are waiting
    >Don't even bite the prey at the neck/throat to kill it quicker, they just rip it apart while it's still alive, prey is often standing with its organs hanging out
    >They do all this while doing an eerie high-pitched squeaky sound
    >80% hunt success rate, if they start chasing you it's basically over

Burning alive is supposedly the most painful way to die but I'm not sure how often that would actually happen in nature.
Maybe starvation/dehydration? I heard that suffocation or drowning is very painful but then other people say it's peaceful so who knows. Getting slashed and bitten by a lion would be very painful but I imagine it would be over pretty quick.
