Why pic related is so boring and uninteresting compared to "Walking with Dinosaurs" or "When Dinosaurs Roamed America"?

Why pic related is so boring and uninteresting compared to "Walking with Dinosaurs" or "When Dinosaurs Roamed America"? I just can't get into it and i hate how most of the dinosaurs and marine/flying reptiles are portrayed.

Cgi and photography were amazing, but the narrative seems to just use scenes of modern animals in documentaries and copy paste the dinosaurs into them. It's stuff we've all seen before in modern documentaries - wolf chasing deer in snow, bizarre mating dances etc. And the scenes linger too long to pad out the episode length.

I've seen you cite material from (1) paper in the last 10 years that wasn't found in the title or first sentence of the abstract.

and even then you got it wrong.
I assume you didn't read the paper, you just found someone on reddit complaining about the paper and copied their complaint here.

Because the concept and narrative were taken directly from Planet Earth and other BBC documentaries. And by "taken" I don't mean inspired by, I mean TAKEN. Almost every single vignette is based on one from Planet Earth, down to the goddamn editing. And narrative wasn't Planet's Earth strong point. So, apart from the accurate designs and the realistic CGI, which are enjoyable to look at, it is nothing but an incredibly lazy attempt at TV-making.

    Music wasn’t as memorable.
Dinosaur calls weren’t memorable or iconic.
We don’t follow any individual creatures for a life cycle or have any narrative to make the dinosaurs feel grounded.
In my opinion, the filmography was too “bombastic “ with drone style footage and shots that are too perfect for me to feel like it’s actually captured footage from a camera man, which makes it feel way less real to me.
The animations and movement of the dinosaurs didn’t feel as realistic as WWD, it falls into the “over animated” bracket to me. Movements are too smooth and wiggly. I think the most realistic looking and best animated creature in the show was the Bezelbufo frog.
I also wasn’t a fan of the narration. the voice acting was fine, but the words didn’t really explain much or go into many details.

Its the format that makes Prehistoric Planet inferior for me. WWD had a narrative format focusing on one individual as it went about its day. Throughout the episode, we are introduced to other species by the individual's interactions with it. Prehistoric Planet is too disjointed. It just jumps from one animal to another.

Doesn't change the fact that it is an overrated documentary, it isn't as epic and cinematographic as WWD. Dinosaurs aren't cool extinct beasts anymore, now they need to looks bad and behave exactly the opposite as they used to in older medias. I don't want to see a large theropod doing a bird-like mating dance, it isn't scientifically accurate anyway, just pure speculation.
