My dog does both. It's either power stance for actual relief or leggy lifty for when he marks the frick out of everything. That's all he's interested in doing when he's outside most of the time. He just finds something vertical to whizz on. It's much different than simply going to the bathroom for him. He saves his piss just to do it as much as possible. Hell, sometimes he lifts his leg and nothing comes out because he wasted it all too soon. I imagine your dog is neutered, so he doesn't have the desire.

Jesus Christ, do you dumbasses not know that dogs only piss with a leg wienered when they're pissing at an angle onto an object to leave a piss smell on it?
If you're just pissing on the lawn you just piss straight down. Why would you lift your leg up and piss sideways into thin air?

      >Why would you lift your leg up and piss sideways into thin air?
Because you are marking the air as your territory like all bad motherfrickers do.

Strangely enough *whispers* yes it is. In the Animal Kingdom 24% of them are their own LGBT+ so treat them with care. *stops whispering*

The rare sea horse is as well.

You know one thing I didn't get though is how we Humans say that K-9s can't eat chocolate lol it's just chocolate!

Cats fishes birds dogs are mostly "omnivorous" meaning they can eat all kinds of things!

Of course carnivorous meat eating & herbivorous plant eating lol

The reason why when dogs eat chocolate and they get the so-called "jitters" is because they are so low on glucose that the healing is slightly painful!

Be wary of the pain of hurt and the pain of heal.

They're just like us too! 2 Goldfishes and a Doberman equal one average Human being!

You can't apply human standards of reproduction or behaviour to animals. It is like treating a pet dog like a human. That is not say wether our standards are or not moral, we have them for a reason. But such ideas or the cultural baggage that comes with them are derived from the human experience. Somethinf alien to different animals.

OP's dog isn't gay. But OP is a gay for thinking his dog is.

probably has to do with its litermates. maybe they were all female? could be a balance problem during early puppyhood and the behavior became normal. who knows anon but your dog is not gay

My Aussie and his puppies do this. They squat down and unleash a loud and powerful stream. I can assure you they are not gay. My female husky lifts her leg for whatever reason. I think it just depends on the dog's preference.

It's related to self confidence. The order-following aussie is an natural beta so they sit down to pee. The husky is a natural alpha.

if you ever do enough shrooms to talk to a dog, they'll tell you that they don't recognize gender based on biology, but based on how high your can get your piss to land. This is not like a troony fantasy, no, a low-pissing male is the canine version of an incel, a low caste insult to his own anatomy.

a sad warning for all you owners of inbred cuck dogs:
when male dogs pee like females, pee splashes back up and gets on their belly and forelegs. if there's a slope they stand in it and get piss paws.
      a wolf would never...

you need to build confidence and dominance in your dogs to keep them from smelling like pee

my pup did this until the desire to pee on tree came to him. he was maybe 6 month old and I was walk him and he went to this tree and smell it and then he start to do his squat pee then something clicked and he left his leg, but he lift the wrong leg and pissed away from the tree. then he went around to the other side of tree and again started to lift the wrong leg then caught himself and switched to the right leg and he soak that fricking tree with his piss. I was so proud.

They do the leg thingy when they go through puberty. It was very cute seeing my dog learn to balance and aim with one leg up. He's a pro now, lol.

is he neutered? If you neuter a puppy before they learn to mark shit they may not hike a leg to pee

Dogs are very social creatures, and they learn from older dogs in the pack. The breeder must not have had him around his dad much, which sucks a little but it'll be okay.

You just need to "role model" the behavior for him for a few weeks. Crawl around in your backyard with him, and she him how a real man pees (yes, you have to actually pee).

Its a puppy, they are learning to do things as they go. You will notice the leg slowly going up over time, by next year he will be peeing normally 🙂

My dog was like this for a little while too but then suddenly switched over to the classic leg up maneuver in the latter years of his life. No idea how they decide these things.
