Jesus Christ will talk with you one day and you'll be on your knees asking for forgiveness.

Untrue. Humans practiced animism for a very long time which is the belief in spirits, not necessarily overarching gods, and the idea that humans are equal to the rest of nature (since everything, even rocks/bodies of water, but especially moving things, to them, were sentient). It was only when we developed agriculture (10 or so thousand years ago) that we began to anthropomorphize/personify concepts and formed a pantheon centered around us. It's believed many versions of the sky father (Yahweh, in this case, but also Zeus/Jupiter, Odin, and many others) originate from the Indo-European people, who were nomadic and had a strongly patriarchal pantheon, and spread their Sky Father, Dyeus Phter, where they went, although it is likely similar sky, weather, and sun gods existed since the beginning of civilization/agriculture/animal husbandry. In any case, there is no evidence we adopted anything beyond proto-animistic superstitionism or the basic rudiments of animism (and the practice of burying the dead) until the time humans migrated out of Africa and were forming totemic objects (around 40-50,000 years ago) which would still only indicate a belief in the supernatural and spirit realms, not necessarily concrete god figures.
