Why can't grasshoppers be eaten like shrimps?

Don't they have any meat in their fat tails?

The Steppe herders who broke into India didn't replace the population like they did in most of the rest of the places they conquered, they installed themselves at the head of their society, and banned the plebs from eating beef because their sacred traditions set themselves apart as the only people allowed to have beef (the cattle raiding myth that underpins the thousands of various "rescuing princesses from the dragon" stories is about rescuing cattle from "others" who must have stolen the cattle because their gods made cattle specifically for them). These are the men who installed themselves as Brahmin and as Kshatriyas, over a thousand years before the penning of Vedas, and that doctrinal change between the Vedic period and the Mahabarata is one that occured due to bottom-up social dilution and loss of tradition due to reform in order to keep the reigns of power.
In Europe and the rest of non-subcontinent West Asia, these same steppe peoples exterminated almost every other male line as their warrior bands slaughtered the men of neighboring tribes in order to take their women and lands to escape the bonds of primogeniture inheritance, but the Subcontinent was too thickly populated for this to work, which is why they set themselves up as overlords instead.

The sacredness of beef is at least 6000 years old. It derives from the same traditions that lead to the beef eating taboo in Hindu culture (specifically the people that beef is "for" installed themselves over the people who are now Hindu and forbid the lower class from eating beef).

But my beef consumption as someone who will have less than three children in my family is not a problem. Maybe stop flying jet planes everywhere?

Why is there even a debate about reducing environmental impact by eating bugs and sea bugs vs land bugs? Just farm the sea bugs to reduce said impact, people already eat them so you don’t need to spend any time convincing people to eat ze bugs

Not humiliating enough. They want us to stop eating meat entirely and switch to soya beans.

I don't know, why does pig have more meat than a bat?

Because a shrimps guts are mostly crammed into the “head” section with just a tiny tube of intestine passing through the meaty part and ending on the middle “fan blade” part of the tail. A grasshopper doesn’t use its ass to move, so there’s not much there. Maybe you can breed for meaty grasshopper legs, or soft-bodied bugs that store lots of fat.

a shrimp has an actual tail thats made of muscle and used for locamotion. A grasshoppers 'tail' is actually it's adomen which is filled with organs and the like, not.
The reason we eat crustaceans and not bugs is because they get bigger and have large meaty appendages like claws and tails. We, don't really like eating the guts still

Me, they're genuinely delicious. Way better than regular shrimp, has a much more delicate flavour.
