Does it need to be hawaii or are you simply looking for small islands with monkeys on it??

If yes I recommend the island of angaur. It belongs to the country of palau and has many monkeys on it.

It costs $100 to get to Hawaii, how much does it cost to get to Angaur?

No Idea man. Do your own research.

my point is that is costs WAY more. they should put monkeys on hawaii so it's a one stop shop for everything tourists want to see on islands

I'm kind of with monekyanon here, I won't visit hawaii due to the way the US took over, but if monkeys were there, it would be well worth it

thank you for the support. seems like common sense to me that monkeys belong on Hawaii.
Not sure why this is so difficult to understand for some people

The latter is in a rainforest with fairly open cages, so it’d at least give you the vibe.

can we put monkeys on the island? will the government be ok with this?

Please no. And the government would in jail for life if you let a breeding pair go in the wild.

          why pls no?

monkeys feel like they belong on Hawaii anon. it would increase tourism and make hawaii more interesting.

          pls anon just one island

Because monkies are little shits. They're the closest we have to real life goblins, and they will negatively effect the ecosystem.
Hawaii has too much tourism already.
If you want 1 island, ask the family that owns the smallest of them.

                yes, different species of monkey
                monkey is the super-species

                Anonymous

There's no such thing as super-species. There's genus & tribe, as well as many higher still taxonomic levels.
Also what you're thinking of is the order Primate, lemurs are not even close to either Old nor New World monkeys (relatively speaking). Bonobos & gorillas are close to Old World monkeys but constitute a different superfamily.

Without tourism, your islands wouldn't even be on the map. Literally. The only reason Hawaii is on any maps is because some Europeans decided to go sightseeing.

New World Monkeys crossed that gap ~40 million years ago, no human intervention.

The gap was smaller 40 million years ago. There could have even been more islands there at the time.

the diffrence of hitting a wall and htting a single smal point wiht blindfolds

        Anonymous

Yeah except the difference is that A) South America is a landmass of significant size, whereas Hawaii is a tiny archipelago, B) the distance between South America and Africa was smaller and there were probably chain islands between them, whereas Hawaii is extremely isolated in the Pacific Ocean from any other landmass and has been throughout its entire history, and C) South America is a significantly older landmass with a regular history of biotic exchanges, while Hawaii is around 5 million years old and the only significant animals to inhabit the island have been anything that flies or swims. Or I guess invertebrates that can survive drifting around for months at a time. Hawaii is an extremely isolated island chain - monkeys would not have survived arriving there.
As for introducing monkeys, there are obvious reasons why that is not happening and why it should not happen. The island is already fricked up by invasives as it is.
