99% of intelligence testing relies on motivation. humans only complete IQ tests because they believe they will receive social status in return. if offered mediocre food and not told about the purpose of completing the test they would be prone to fucking off when the test got difficult but an alien would sumrise that they were stupid because life should naturally want to eat. so they would starve the humans, and they would do even more poorly as a result, to the point some would give up after a few questions believing their situation was hopeless, not knowing why they were being starved and making up theories about just being tortured for fun and made to solve puzzles that will result in the destruction of earth. some humans would by chance, infer that it is an intelligence test, and believe they were proving their species. other humans would debate that this is an unprovable and naive belief, and they should refuse to participate. aliens, hearing nothing but monkey noises, would determine humans were extremely unintelligent, and only built civilization based on instinct.

we have seen dogs fail to use mirrors in labs. then a dog in its own home uses a mirror... only when told it should. we can not estimate animal intelligence without the ability to fully simulate their brain and indirectly experience their thought process to see what's really going on. just algorithms or complex consciousness?

It relies on our belief that animals are so stupid they don't place bullshit abstractions in the path of reason and will always do what we think an animal should: pursue pleasure as well as it can. But if they do have some thought, especially for higher order ones like cats and dogs, it's all bunk.

People even think a smart dog obeys because they're going to maybe give it food and dogs MUST love food. "If the dog was smart it would obey whether or not I was holding the treat because the payoff is greater than the half second it takes that gay to sit" they say thinking the dog has no other motivations in line. Yet man disobeys even when there's a chance he might get a dollar because he thinks obeying would lessen his value as a person. And the dog, an adult, wonders why you are barking at it like a pup.

    >walrus sleep is disturbed by huge crowds of people that usually hang around that spot because their boats and shit are parked there

Revenge hunts are based and what makes humans human. If we don't revenge hunt our predators we are no better than rats. Even wolves will tear up bear and puma cubs and vice versa in an interconnected triangle of mutual hate. Do you know what doesn't fight back before, during, or after the fact? Vermin. It takes, it dies, but it does not define its right to the world. It's just there spreading and being obnoxious to everything else.

And yet we are here not being eaten by cave lions, feared by wolves, feared by cougars, and feared by all but two species of bear, both of which are endangered. If indians were allowed to have guns i suppose tigers would be gone by now too. India has very strict gun laws, one part to prevent a mass insurrection (british attitude), the other part to prevent wholesale tiger extermination.

They do learn. The ones that don't naturally fear the tall two legs big eyes won't be passing down their genes that much.

A human should have a large enough brain to understand that an animal dying is of no consequence to him and the low cost of killing it is less than the cost of allowing one that can prey upon humans continue exist.

Ask yourself how many grizzly bears you see when you walk around the block. Is the answer 0? You're welcome. Ask yourself about the dogs. I had pet rats - a lone male whose buddy died so i got 2 juveniles that i thought were male but 1 turned out to be female -
When i put them together all hell broke loose and the big male bit off the little male's finger

I separated them in 2 cages and over time they seemed not to care about each other anymore and kept to themselves in the 2 cages so at some point i stacked the cages on top of each other and left the doors open so the other rats could travel between them

Then one day like a year or more later, when the big rat was pretty old and geriatric, the now grown up little rat with the bit off finger climbed up into the big rat's cage while he was sleeping - AND BIT OFF THE EXACT SAME FINGER - then went back into his cage like nothing happened

Lmao no. It's just a classic case of progressively more abstract thought fucking problem solving intelligence in the ass, because abstract thought is almost always "wrong" by definition. It's based in unreality. This is classical wisdom. The fool is often wiser in practice than the scholar. It's why people in MENSA get mocked as "midwits" by people who dropped out of highschool.
                >yeah well while yer talkin about dat dumb shit... i got a paycheck, a burger, and had 4 kids. you aint so smart. purpuss of life is to do this. its in the bible. gay.

All mammals have theory of mind dipshit. Soientists are just poor at coaxing it out of them.

Why is it cat and dog owners can provide not just anecdotes, but video of these animals doing things science says they can't? Because science tests abused and demented animals in poor conditions and more complex minds are more sensitive to stress and prone to "shutting down" and not seeing motivation where we think they should. Rats lack the mental process needed to override simply pursuing a food reward while other animals abstract things so heavily they see obstacles where there are none. Including humans. Depressed humans would appear to be braindead if tested like animals.

If two animals are tested and one clears the test and one ignores it, is one smarter? perhaps neither comprehends the true nature of the test, and one is motivated, and the other is not sure if they should be.

Humans have been observed killing other humans to eat the food, and rushing ahead in their eating to make sure other humans do not get the food. Dogs have been observed sharing food.

is it intelligence or is it an innate emotional preference? Even insects display altruism. Rather than higher thought this shows that some things are animal instinct justified with human thought rather than human thought overriding animal instinct.

Do not look at the animal and marvel at how human they are. Look at the animal and marvel at how animal you are. The most human thing you can do is override your instincts entirely. A rat just follows them.

Their habitats are getting smaller with each passing year due to urbanization. It's not the animal's fault to look for food when there's scarcity of land to scavenge. She had cubs so her desperation was even greater that she was forced to look for food in human homes. They didn't deserve death.

Second, Rock Pigeons as they are nicknamed are feral domestic pigeons bred from Rock Doves and Stock Pigeons.

Third, Rock Pigeons prefer to stoop in city centers and a fancy development in Bristol often has Wood Pigeons, which is another wild native breed.
