Hey, has anyone had experience with Lion’s Mane? I’ve been taking it as needed 0-3 tablets per day. Also not meme tablets (actual biomass tablets not le glucose garden gnome)
people typically use logs that they drill holes into and then put plugs into those holes. It takes a while for the mycelium to inoculate the entire log. So as a result some people will use wood chips instead. Just be sure to get untreated wood chips as some are treated to stop fungi from growing on them. Plus you'll need to pasteurize the wood chips with boiling water to prevent contamination.
I used to get a local species of coprinus(inkcap) mushroom in my raise garden beds. It was a mix of potting soil and mulched up palm wood. Coprinus Floridanus in specific is what I identified it as. I know wine caps are common in gardens with lots of wood mulch and to be more specific my palm wood mulch was mixed in with the dirt, not on top of it. I figure the wood bits act as both food and refugia for the fungi.
God I really want to get back into mushroom growing. I've had ideas about using bubble airlocks for a DIY kind of grow chamber that I can set up air pumps to to give them oxygen when they need it whilst also keeping them safe from trichoderma which is super prolific in my area.

I thought about growing mushrooms indoors, but heard they can give off a lot of spores which are bad for your lungs, is there any truth to that?
There is but you typically don't grow them in such a way to get spores all over your house. When you're growing them in a house you usually grow them in tubs or like

Growing mushrooms is rewarding.

Growing mushrooms is a lot of fun.
posted you grow them in a bag for quite a while and just have them fruit in what seems to be a special area. When you leave them exposed to the open air the spores of other fungi can and will get into your culture/substrate and compete with what you're trying to grow. In some cases you'll get parasitic fungi like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichoderma_viride
Can't be worse than the fuckload of mold spores you're exposed to every day. Just see what those nutsos in Wauf are taking for galactic death fungus and hold the schizophrenia.
Yes, you just look into tubtec or w.e. people call it these days. Basically growing mushrooms in plastic tubs. People looking to grow their own psilocybin mushrooms do that well enough.
That is literally just a Martha Tent in my basement. You can get it for about $100 or less. Or do tubtec like

mentions.
Just keep your stuff clean so you don't get contamination.
Seconded, anyone know any sites that are reliable and ship to UK?
You are a google search away from finding various vendors selling mushroom spores and grow kits. All legal and accessible. Some of the same vendors sell psilocybin spores as well as gourmet ones.
If you are willing to spend more money, you can capture mushroom spores after growing and produce more on your own with substrate material you can get at hardware stores.
>"Come on, anon... Give me your cellulose-rich wood." >"Are you going to help me spread my spores?"
Shrooba is potent stuff, anon. Be careful out there.
There was this simple strategy game called mushroom wars where a bunch of tiny critters who lives and reproduce in mushrooms fight each other to conquer the map.

To me they were always asexual since they are mushrooms and all, they don't even have a mouth. So we have a regular mushroom looking like some mini men, an edgy death-like mushroom with scythes and an aylomao looking mushroom. But then Mushroom Wars 2 was made and they had heroes with special skills. I loled when I realized they had female looking mushrooms with tits! They don't even have mouths but they need to have tits to show that they are women and they are important!
Morels&False Morels? Of course False Morels are also great for eating, if you are willing to go through billion step long preparation process that involves detoxifying them by boiling them multiple times. Just remember to change the water between the boiling phases, not breath in the toxic fumes, and realize just how many people must have died during process to figure out how to make these things edible.
nice trips
I could be off base but I don't think fungi even give a shit about animals apart from the ones they're inside and can manipulate. They're just fruit bodies of a much larger organism for spreading.
>fungi ... They're just fruit bodies of a much larger organism
Mushrooms and toadstools are the fruit bodies of fungi that live in the soil, in a living tree, in a rotting, log, etc.
That white cobwebby stuff you find when you're digging in the garden or repotting plants is the main body of the fungus.
Some don’t want to be eaten, some don’t care. The differences are obvious enough if you pay attention to how you tell mushrooms apart, but if that’s too hard, stick to Morels and Chicken of the Woods.
Fuck the wooly mammoth. I want to see these brought back to life.

taking it gave me sciatica. It went away when I stopped taking it.
Good troll. Thank you come again
Copycat effect. The poisonous ones always come first.
>NO SHOOT HIM, I'M THE REAL ONE!
>DON'T LISTEN TO HIM HE'S THE CLONE!
What conditions can I give my yard or even a pot of soil to encourage mushrooms to grow there
rainy weather, shade, and rotten wood
>rotten wood
Tree bark work?

The tastiest mushrooms are coincidentally the most distinct anyway
>t. amanita muscaria eater
bros did i hit the jackpot?
Seems like insects hit the jackpot before you
mushrooms are underrated. If the overlords that want to feed us bugs tried to feed us mushrooms instead I'd be down.
They could grow shrooms on shit and sewage for all I care, I'd still eat them. Less disgusting than ze bugs

Just grow sporeless oysters.

Can you grow mushrooms without a special humidified room?

I really need to make a mushroom growing site.
What's a good place to get spores from?
Seconded, anyone know any sites that are reliable and ship to UK?

Fun fact, there are more poisonous wild fruits than there are poisonous mushrooms.
your fault for being a pussy-ass bitch. go hunt like a real man instead of scavenging garbage off the ground.
I know you're just baiting, but most of the mushroom foragers I know hunt regularly.
The only thing you hunt is porn on the internet anon
Why wouldn't you want mushrooms in the gravy you make to go with the meat you hunted?
why aren't mushrooms like this?
shrooma?
SHROOMA
The horror
Killed by erection from the inside with mind control foreplay
yeeesh
All to generate even more of the same.
shroobs
I'm not even surprised this arouses me.
Would.

>irrelevant time wasting question
does this actually happen with any other mushrooms than the death cap/false death cap?
some people mistakenly get deadly galerina while collecting cyanescens during sunset because they can grow right next to each other

False morels and morels have distinctive visual differences. I can't imagine mistaking one for the other unless you've never seen either before.
Every edible mushroom has a lookalike.
You got to be pretty dumb to fuck it up in most cases.

Go for it. Get all you can.

but why
jostling them should release a shitton of spores, some may even get trapped in fur and carried long distances
