    >how can you possibly love nature and be vegetarian/vegan, either eat rocks or deny everything and go back eating meat!
This is just taking vegan arguments to their natural conclusions.
    >meat is unethical because animals feel pain
So do plants. In fact, they communicate that pain with each other in order to produce toxins against insects. The pain of plants is actually more advanced and altruistic than the pain of many domesticated animals.
    >meat is unethical because of environmental concerns
Same is true of monoagriculture. And in fact, agriculture is very reliant on animal products, particularly for fertilizer.
    >humans aren't evolved to eat meat
We aren't evolved to eat cereal grains either.

I think it's best to just take the L on veganism. It's a shit ideology that places animal life above plant life for no other reason than vegans dislike slaughterhouses.

They always say harm reduction, not elimination...

...so if vegans are about harm reduction what about a sapience modifier?

A cow lined up for slaughter may feel confusion and some stress, and sometimes even realize it is going to die (although apparently many aren't capable of this or are but simply don't care that much). But a human exploited to make farming more profitable may feel rage, despair, and suicidal dread.
Pigs are, like dogs, quite present and display the force of will and a better idea of what their life is like now and what it will be like in a few minutes. But although they seem to suffer more than the herd animal, would not an orangutan extirpated or killed for the sake of palm oil suffer more than a thousand of them?

      How about whales? Dolphins?

It seems to be as ethical as they want to be vegans need to stop contributing to human suffering by even one iota before they address anything to do with animals, and when they get to animals they need to address cetaceans and great apes before they should address anything else. Else it would be like washing one fingertip of a dirty hand.

humans are the only animals that are proven to suffer

everything else could just be automatically making alert sounds, glitching from too many nerve impulses, and displaying the same behavior a robot vacuum does when it hits a wall

          >everything else could just be automatically making alert sounds, glitching from too many nerve impulses, and displaying the same behavior a robot vacuum does when it hits a wall
So where's your proof that this isn't exactly what a suffering human is really doing also?

      >We aren't evolved to eat cereal grains either.
we were. australopithecus and other primitive hominids had longer intestines, bigger jaws and most important of all 12 full functioning molars (now 8 plus 4 wisdom teeth which are considered vestigial). we ate grain and seeds, including cereals, and we used to be more adapted to it then to eat meat. our canines are not made for a carnivore diet, most likely they used to be bigger as defensive weapons like for mandrils, since all of our remaining teeth are flat

Humans were not considered human until they adapted to eating meat. We are provably adapted to it.

Our teeth aren’t flat either. They are deeper and sharper for chewing meat. Most notably FISH. Over 50% of paleolithic protein consumed was FISH. Fish is easy to chew and you need nothing more than skillful use of some thin tipped incisors to work your way through it. Coincidentally we also have insanely strong stomach acid which would be perfect for digesting scales, bones, and the parasites found in raw fish.

    Anyway,
    >>hurr durr check this normie loser, he uses recycled cups. but what about the amazonians getting cut for furniture wood?
Nobody is persecuting you for recycling, you made this up.
    >>how can you possibly love nature and be vegetarian/vegan, either eat rocks or deny everything and go back eating meat!
Nobody actually cares what you eat in your home, but when you make very general statements about people on normal diets and want to impede their dietary liberty, expect a response.
's no coming back the world's gone down the shitter, better just enjoy the ride (like every other generation before me did)
This isn't even a specifically Wauf attitude.
    >>why can't i litter if everybody else does it?
You also made this one up. People litter because they're lazy, not because they're morally justified.
are the superior race and killing everything is just nature doing its course
Only one I see frequently and agree that it's annoying. But then again, it's just a contrarian position taken as a kneejerk reaction to some arguments when there are much simpler points to make or those arguments can be ignored in the first place because they're moronic to begin with.
    >>so you want to buy an electric. but what about those batteries made by leveling down mountains in mongolia?
Your argument here boils down to "toxic metals in mongolia/china good, uranium in congo bad," so I don't have the patience to go through this moronic dance with you.
    >nuclear is the real answer to the energy crisis, who cares if we have to cut down the congo to find what little uranium's left
Nuclear energy would be farther along and past current limits if it wasn't for Big Oil/Gas trying to kill it as hard as they can and convincing their green energy stooges it's bad. Yet despite this, we already have a clearer vision of the nuclear energy future with innovations like thorium reactors.

naturalist means hating humans to most people
"pets" are normally two specific animals that "naturally" (used in the way I understand it, not the way naturalists understand it where ANYTHING to do with humans is unnatural and bad) evolved to live in the human environment, or a number of ones that were purposefully enslaved (foodstock) or just captured (herps etc)
ergo a naturalist can not have a pet because a naturalist hates humanity
in fact a naturalist can not even stay alive, it is their moral duty to kill as many people as possible and then commit suicide

    >whataboutism
I stopped reading after that word was used.
It's always brought up by hypocrites, I remember when the trend was "fallacies", people were straight up lying and if you ever dared call them out they'd say "heh ad hominem fallacy? your whole argument just crumbled, I'm right by default".
Same shit with "whataboutism", if you even dare point out the hypocrisy in one of their statement by comparing it to something similar they'll instantly bark "whataboutism ! whataboutism !"

    >nuclear is the real answer to the energy crisis, who cares if we have to cut down the congo to find what little uranium's left
as opposed to what, solar? do lots of heavy metal mining which is extremely dirty for the local environment for a very inefficient energy source that only works 60% of the time at best, and kills birds. wind? the thing that requires plastics for on shore turbines, which means oil refineries, increasing the irony, and in general have to be shutdown when the wind starts blowing too hard
every energy source is bad in someway, part of being an adult is understanding what is the least bad option you can in a terrible situation

      Anonymous

yeah but you see, you keep on shilling nuclear like it's a godsend, while completely ignore the crapload of implications that come with it. nuclear requires rare fuel, nuclear is expensive, nuclear is catastrophic if a tiny error is made
      >but chernobyl was because the russians were dumb cheapskates and fukushima because the japs are morons that build reactors close to tsunami prone shores
yeah exactly, and guess who's the main lead in the nuclear energy? china, world's greatest exporter of negligence caused accidents videos. i don't want even to imagine what'll happen.
granted, with wind or solar you get low output and have to use a lot of land, but if you make the wind turbines offshore and install the panels onto the roofs, where's the problem?

        Anonymous

we dig up shit hole countries for uranium, like the kazakhstan or canada, no real loss there, or you can exact it from seawater, cleaning it of heavy metals at the same time, nor do you need a lot since theyre building them to use less and less uranium, like thorium reactors, which dont use uranium
        >muh fukushima
fukushima was hit by a the STRONGEST earthquake in the countrys history and a 10 METER wave, and all it did was knock out some auxiliary power and released enough radiation to equate a couple xrays a year, despite it being on outdated building specs in line for being retrofitted to modern standards, the only problem with fukushima is service crews couldnt get to the power plant because of all the garbage in the way
        >muh china
        who gives a shit
        >where's the problem?
offshore is fine, if you live near the shore; in case you didnt know, theres people that dont live within a 100 miles of a coast, and this is important because electricity loses charge the further it travels even with ac power, so you want your power sources close to its consumers, and the other problem is they still have to shut them down when storms get too strong, so you cant build them in tropical areas where hurricanes are really common
solar only works during the some of the day because it peaks around noon thats when you get the most power for about an hour
and the other problem is these arent solid fuels, see the cool thing about fossil fuels is they basically storage energy forever until burned, nuclear kinda does that its much more convoluted, theyre their own natural battery and you can get energy basically whenever you need it, unlike solar and wind where it only works at specific times and you need to store the excess it in a battery, instead of not using it, and the problem with batteries are kinda shitty, because they lose energy over time
and this on top of the fact that all of these die within about 20 years, compared to reactors 40
