What would you speculate a "land shark" would look or hunt like? underground like a mole or in packs like wolves?

Komodo dragons are functionally land sharks
      >ambush

      >let blood loss do the heavy lifting

don't think any other large living terrestrial carnivore hunts that way, all the other big predators like big cats, canines, large snakes, etc. seems to prefer to hold onto prey

    Great white every time.
Crocs are good at holding mammals underwater to drown them. A great white thrashes after clamping on and boom youre missing your entire midsection/are split in half and unconscious.
Croc can do no damage to the shark, shark can do damage to the croc, simple as

Shark would win. Its maneuverability is impeccable compared to a croc. Not to mention, the shark has an advantage due to body mass. The shark's skin would be too blubbery and slippery for the croc to clamp down upon successfully, wouldn't it? Both have split second reaction time when it comes to reflexes though.

All it would take for the shark to kill that croc would be a successful chomp, and it'll swimmer deeper into the water, drowning the croc since crocs need to resurface for air.

Forgive me if i'm wrong but i was of the knowledge that sharks are cowards that don't actually like or are even good at fighting unless they kill immediately?

        I'll bite
Even if orcas didn't hunt in pods (they can) they are bigger and smarter than a great white. It's not a crush match in a 1v1, but it's heavily weighted. Being an active air breathing hunter that has godly metabolism compared to the fish plebs depending on depth has it's advantages. Finally, great whites like to hit and run to let prey bleed to death, an orca hunts directly.
I think sharks are cool though.

Crocs cant see well enough underwater and they risk having their throat lid open during a struggle with large prey like this. The croc would 100% avoid the shark in this situation. And the shark would either ignore or do the same.

There were a television show called something like animal face-off were they made a virtual fight between the saltwater crocodrile vs the greet white shark...and the white shark won.

Now, what frustrates me its the fact they never made

    saltwater crocodrile vs bull shark

    hippoptamus vs white rino

i reallyw anted to see those virtual fights to see who woul win...

Only if the bull shark is a young one. A adult bull shark with its full size and full weight has some chances of win.

Is half the size of a large crocodile. Even adults are preyed on by salties

      >saltwater crocodile vs the greet white shark
Didn't watch, but if deep water, Great White wins, if shallow water/mud, Croc wins. Pretty simple, really.

I think if both the great white and saltwater were but into a big tank and were equally aggressive, t would say the shark would win. While saltwater crocodiles have a stronger bite force, the great white's is more devastating. The great white's bite is designed to rip off chunks of meat with massive dagger teeth. Not even a crocodile's scales would be able to withstand it. Just look at sea turtles. On the other hand, the crocodiles bite is designed to hold prey in place. Yes, there is the death role, but that would be significant less useful against a giant live shark in the ocean. The great white shark also is far better adapted to the water. It can move faster and dive deeper which when you consider its hunting style, it very important. While I'd want to say the shark is smarter, there really isn't a good way to compare their intelligences. They both fall into a vague, "they are smarter than they look" category. The one big plus I'd give to the crocodile is that they are more often more aggressive than the shark. With how situational these sorts of fights can be, this is very important. In deep waters, the shark would win probably, but if the water is shallow enough to limit the shark's movements and bluster the effectiveness of the crocodiles "grab and hold" fighting style, it would come down to who bites first.

there are different kinds of dumb that will do poorly on an IQ test. there's thinking slow and purposefully dumb, so you don't arrive at correct conclusions fast enough even though you eventually can. there's not caring dumb, where they assume you are dumb because if you weren't you would have completed the obviously important task. and then there's hyper dumb, where thoughts disappear forever as quickly as they appear, and only simple problems can be solved but anything else is forgotten.

crocs are the first kind. most animals will be the second kind when interacting with us. dingoes, and most humans, are the third kind.

But crocs only ambush land animals. They generally avoid anything that can put up a fight in the water.
