which cat food are least adulterated with filler ingredients?

I want to be able to feed my cats the best food I can purchase or them, and since I can’t feed them meat bought from some wholesalers that sells meat scraps or something, I want to feed them something that doesn’t contain a bunch of filler grains and sweet potatoes and whatnot. Things that cats aren’t supposed to eat and will probably give them diabetes. I know that just the labels aren’t going to be a completely accurate reflection of their quality since the big companies that manufacture them probably don’t care about my pets health and will bend around restrictions and exploit loopholes to add filler when they can. I’m hoping that someone here might be in the know about which brands tend to be the least adulterated, or possibly tell me how to dig into this subject and figure it out for myself.

If you're Australian just buy kangaroo steaks/fillet. It's really cheap and great protein. The little c**ts go wild for it too

Even cheapo wet food will be better than fancy kibble, so long as it's a low carb option (usually the pates are safest). My cat gets exclusively fancy feast and friskies pates. Occasionally some soulistic sloppa, which is a petco store brand but it's made by the weruva folks.

    t. my cat developed diabetes eating fancy grain free kibble (wellness core), switching him to 100% wet low carb options put his beetus into complete remission, insulin no longer required.

wtf is hippie about feeding a cat canned meat?

        >feed cat low grade shit
        >cat gets sick
This is entirely your fault. Grain free is code for cheap and shitty food. 99.99% of cats will be fine in a quality dry kibble.

wellness core isn't low grade shit. Alternately, it IS low grade because all kibble is shit and yours isn't excluded from the list. The issue either way is carb content which typically runs 30-40% in kibble, there's no such thing as low carb kibble because they need the carbs to bind the fat and protein together in a pellet.

I've been thinking of switching but I don't know much about cat foods. I've always given nine the chicken purple Whiskas bag.

Explain to me how sweet potato is superior to grains for a carnivore. Seems to me like you are paying a premium for nothing.

What's recommendable? Like I said, I've always fed my cats Whiskas. Found the Kirkland brand at Costco and it lasts me a really long time plus she likes it.

I'm meaning to switch though, I just don't know what would be a good brand to move on to and I'm not willing to pay $100 to a vet so they can sell me their sponsored brand.

If you are poor, basic Purina. Never go cheaper than Purina. If you are middle class: hills science diet or royal canin.

Aldi and trader joe’s canned cat food is a decent budget option. Canned hound&gatos and also some of the evangers flavors are good quality on the pricier side. Even some of the fancy feast canned flavors are decent too, but I forgot which.
    >possibly tell me how to dig into this subject and figure it out for myself.
Literally just look at the ingredients. Always feed wet food of some sort to help prevent kidney issues, avoid fillers if you want, try to keep the starches/carbohydrates to a minimum to hopefully stave off diabetes, and keep in mind that having water/broth as the first ingredient means you are paying for less actual food in the can than one where water is like third.

It's the Fancy Feast classic pate that's alright. In general, for the cheaper brands you want to go with pate, gravy is just carb sauce.

Just feed them any wet food that isn't bottom of the barrel grocery store stuff and you'll be fine.

Don't feed your cat meat scraps, buy a feeder mouse and let them eat them whole thing. Eating fattened and filleted meat is just unnatural as kibble.

I just feed my cat live husky puppies. It has to be huskies specifically.

The high pitched awoo noises really get him going, especially since he just starts munching on the guts without killing his food first. The best part is you can get them for free, but a few hundred for my special guy is nothing and dogtards are easy to fool.

    Vet here

Unironically, the big pet food companies of Hills, royal canin, and Purina are the best. That's what I feed my cat. Just feed a wet food, cats don't like to drink water and this helps prevent bladder trouble.

Most raw or home cooked diets are nutritionally incomplete and can lead to disease. Animals fed raw also shed salmonella and other diseases in your house at a higher rate.

Also, grain free diets and other exotic diets are linked to heart disease.

And grain free diet =/= more meat
It just means the grains in it have been swapped for peas or lentils or sweet potatoes or whatever is trendy this week

Spastic, even in humans the only nutrient not available in meat is vitamin c and cats can probably synthasise it

If you want to be that autistic about your cat's food, just cook the meals yourself. Not even joking.
