komondorok are stubborn retard guardians that will boneheadedly protect their group, great for keeping cigs away from your stuff but not so much if you plan on ever having guests that mind the smell of dog dreads
any pibble that wanders into your yard is a write-off though
These dogs have a job to do, if they weren't good at it people wouldn't get them. If you want an alternative that looks pretty much the same there's Maremma sheepdogs. As always prioritize getting a good ass breeder.
Yeah he was a massive dickhead, but I never recovered after all the quality time I spent with him. When he was gone, no other dog could possibly fill the hole he left.
I'd recommend old English sheepdogs, they have very strong protective instincts, as my sons found out whenever they fought and she would bowl them over by running into them and nocking them over. they also tend to be very energetic and playful dogs that crave companionship whilst still being able to function independently.
depends, some dogs adore it when you brush them others cant stand it, Mine I just had to keep short because the fucking hated being brushed, but from the size of them I can see it taking hours to fully groom them. it took me physically sitting on her for an hour just to shave her never mind grooming
remember that quality of the breeder >>>>>> quality of the breed but some things are consistent about dogs. females are more independent but less aggressive. males are more dominant towards familiar humans and universally aggressive. severe inbreeding with popular sires to produce show and dog sports winners is not the best or only way to make a good working dog.
Primarily looking for a male since I need that extra level of aggression for guarding.
Also not even looking at show dog breeders since I need a working dog.
Females are more directed and purposeful if they're aggressive. Males are just testy and easily provoked. A guard dog should be able to moderate its own aggression because not everything that comes near your property is worth it. Good guard dog breeders will actually try to make all their dogs less insane, but males are usually way meaner to people. Females are just meaner to other female dogs.
I think that depends heavily on breed and enviroment more than sex.
I've known/owned plenty of male dogs that were more chill than females, both towards humans and fellow canines.

statistically, more unjustified attacks are done by male dogs than female dogs, and more of those males are intact than neutered.

Alabai, Kangal, Caucasian Ovcharka, Sharplaninac, Armenian Gumper, Tibetan Mastiff
A few of those breeds aren't legal where I live
a great pyranese mix oops litter from a farm
Anyways are Pyrs overrated or should I just do what everyone else is doing and buy one?

they cute
No male dogs are just dickheads in general
Have you ever owned a male dog mate?
Yeah he was a massive dickhead, but I never recovered after all the quality time I spent with him. When he was gone, no other dog could possibly fill the hole he left.
Then maybe he wasn't that bad after all?
Oh no, he was a real pain in the ass.
Then way haven't you recovered?
Do you not know how emotional attachements work, or are you just trying to b8?
I have been emotionally attached to all my dogs and cats, but that doesn't mean i'm never gonna get another, that's just retarded.
Meant why, sorry;)
>massive dickhead
>quality time
>no other dog could fill the hole
>pain in the ass

Not really a LGD tho, but a very nice dog nonetheless
Btw how much time did you spend on that coat?

there was once an anon that really liked having a female kuvasz around
apparently the males are too dangerous for most people to take in
I have been looking at the Kuvasz but it wouldn't be my first choice
