Not people driving cars, but corporations. A commercial tanker can release about 50 million tons of Sulphur dioxide, Commercial jets burn thousands of tons of kerosene right in the atmosphere.

It isn't the fault of the majority, but a small minority of greedy people.

A series of large bolide impacts on the Canadian ice sheet and in the Atlantic Ocean as well as smaller impacts in Europe caused a sudden melting event, airbursts that resulted in global burnoff of grass and woodlands as well as megatsunamis. The meltwater in North America carved out unique features of the Mojave Desert in a relatively short time frame. American megafauna including humans were wiped out.

I don't think any one actor is at fault, I think it was a combined effort. Climate fluctuation, human activity, and other, less understood factors. I don't think humans are 100% to blame for all megafaunal extinction, but I do think that they exasperated and drove extinction of animals already vulnerable to the shifting climates. Not through targeted hunting, but rather simply through tragedy of the commons at a larger level, because I would honestly doubt that anyone thousands of years ago figured out that animals aren't going to recover if you keep hunting them without breaks, since humanity was in pure survival mode at the time.

Most people didn't even figure that out 200 years ago, some haven't even figured it out today.

    >The mammal extinction wave in Australia about 50,000 years ago coincides not with known climatic changes, but with the arrival of humans.
    >In addition, large mammal species like the giant kangaroo Protemnodon appear to have succumbed sooner on the Australian mainland than on Tasmania, which was colonised by humans a few thousand years later.
    Curious.

Tbh, Australia (like New Zealans and Madagascar) were extremly isolated.

While many megafaunal species were mainly hunted to extinction there.

Did in Europe,Asia Africa and the Americas the large collapse pnly start after 1000s of years co-existing with hunans, at the exact same time, where the climate drasticaly changed.

Climate Change that changed the Mammoth Steppe, thus killing the Mammoth.

Since they were so vital to that ecosystem and were a keystone species, their extinction caused a trophic collapse.

    >No Mammoths?
    >No more trees being cleared allowing for healthier soil and grass, wiping out the wooly rhino, Wild Horse and other large herbivores.
    >No more large herbivores meant the large carnivores: Dire Wolves, Smilodon, Cave Lion and American lion specialised for killing them no longer had that abundant food source
    >These carnivores couldn't compete with Humans for food since they were more specialised than us.
    >More Generalised animals like Wolves, Grizzly Bears, Bison, Deer and Cougars survived alongside us since they could survive on smaller quantities of food.
