Any other animal-related conspiracies you know of? Of course there's the bioengineered ticks but we pretty much all know about that.

Crazy that my city made chickens and goats legal a few years back. All animals classed as livestock was illegal to have on residential zoning.
    Liberal AF city too

    I should goat up

What's insane is them banning them in the first place. Bunch of brown-nosing, power-tripping HOA shitheads I assume?

Always read through the legislation if your neighbors are that type, a guy I knew had to give up his chickens because of those snitches.
He went and got some ducks. Laws banned chickens but not ducks, they tried to get ducks banned but afaik they couldn't.

Enjoy your goats dude, always wanted to own a Dwarf Goat but I just don't have the space

No idea why or when they banned keeping chickens, but I know it was back when this place was still very conservative.
Also doesn't make sense since the city still has a lot of agriculture in the economy.
I think there's only restrictions on wieners because of their crowing. Other than that there's no HOA here.

Had a friend who grew up on the farm. They hooked us up with good, free range organic eggs until one day weasels killed all the chickens. If I were to get chickens, how would I avoid that? They said once you get weasels you're better off giving up because you'll never be rid of the squiggly bastards.

You keep the chickens in a very secure enclosure. Once you do this after free ranging, you will notice the chickens are just as happy and are actually afraid to leave or stray too far from the pen.

Cement floors. Sand litter. Cement footing. Wire and metal post walls can't be chewed through. Wire ceiling keeps hawks away. Metal door. It's easy to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter with the strategic addition of tarps or wall panels that go over the wire. Easy as piss to clean.

Basically treat it like food storage. Because it is.

          Brahmas
Big breed, want a lot of space, expensive to get started with. Very fussy with temperatures.

I've seen local small farms forgo the usual egg/meat birds to raise these like cash crops to sell to other bird hobbyists

        Ever heard of Guard Geese?
Big, aggressive birds. Have it raised by a broody hen and it'll guard the chicken flock with it's life.

Bonus is that you're not getting a wildly different animal too. Like yeah it has it’s needs but it's mostly supplemental to what the chickens already get

Weasels will kill geese just as easily. In fact they may prioritise them cos they're juicier and have more exposed neck.

I just looked it up, it's true.

I'd say learn to trap them, it can be hard for a guard animal to stop night predation.
I used to have an issue with foxes until I started using cage traps. It took a bit of practice but I got rid of the pests pretty effectively.

There used to be a type of wild pigeon in the US that was everywhere. People used to pluck them out of trees and prep them for dinner they were so common. They all suddenly disappeared around the turn of the 20th century.

They were literally hunted to extinction. There was nothing sudden about their disappearance.

The elite are currently pushing the idea that chickens are companion animals in secret and should be treated more or less like cats to dissuade more people from keeping them for food, both because of widespread anthropomorphization (only women could fall for it... they're vile creatures that make pitbulls and feral tomcats look cuddly and cooperative) and judgement for "animal abuse" if you dare keep the world's dumbest bird in a cage on your limited plot of land.

Didn't a lot of Venezuelans die of starvation because the rabbits they ate didn't have enough oils/fat in their meat?

        Anonymous

No. Most of that story was made up by the burgerlard media and glowBlack folk operating in Venezuela. The shortages mostly affected things like paper products when the PRIVATELY OWNED factories decided to stop production to punish the citizens and make them pay more for basic goods. Pretty much everything said in the western press about Venezuela was fabricated. Like incubator baby tier fabrication.
