You can report those channels to Youtube for animal cruelty, at least the ones of people eating them alive. Won't stop the people doing it, but if the channels get closed enough times they won't be making money off it at least.

Livefeeding for the sake of the animal isnt essentially bad, but this shit is fricking evil. And its alwasy goddamn Pacman Frogs.
Do they breed so much of them in those shithole countries where those videos are produced? Even the cheapest one of those things costs like 80 Euros in Germany, never could afford one.

Worst rabbithole is this shit where a Pajeet or other south east asian jungle monkey dyed dead food and pet fish in terrible eyesoring colours and does stop motion with them; and its under the category "Youtube Kids". Fricking evil satanic shit.

But you have to like animal cruelty, why else would you click on a cute cat video?

That would be like saying you don't want to see road rage if you like motorcycles. You want helmet cam footage of someone getting out of their car and screaming and punching at you.

Why would you click on a philosophy video if you didn't want to be recommended Jordan Peterson?

And no matter what you like to watch,

You always want to remember being raped, right? You always want to go right back to moment, so why wouldn't you like it every other recommended video was about rape?

      Anonymous

A common trend is giving rabbits, cats, and puppies, to large snakes or crocodiles. They specifically pick animals common in cutesy type videos. A lot of cute videos use white rabbits with black fur around their eyes, so the feeding videos copy by taking the same type of thing and just tossing it in with a large python. It's always very graphic but none of it is done in a "natural" way, it's kinda like those weird videos from some weird third world country where people put fish in mud and pretend it's a nature fact video

The ones in the wild don't bother me as long as there's no tampering going on, that shit's just the way it goes out there. It's the ones where people put animals that would never even interact in nature, much less fight each other to the death/eat each other, together in a tiny box with nothing else and harass them until one kills the other. I report them when I see them but it feels like fighting a major uphill battle, especially when it concerns reptiles or invertebrates or other animals that aren't as traditionally "cute" or whatever the frick

If the sale of meat was banned and in order to eat it you have to hunt it/raise it yourself I think A LOT less people would eat meat and those that did would eat a lot less of it. Which maybe is how it should be. We didn't evolve to be eating steaks 3 times a day, but our meat consumption is through the roof.

a lot of people would fricking starve

          Anonymous

literally what are you talking about?

          >We didn't evolve to be eating steaks 3 times a day,
Depends on where you live man. Our african ancestors certainly did (and many african tribes to this day do) eat almost exclusively meat. It's supremely easy in some places of the world to just stalk a gazelle until it's tired out, every other day, year round.
If you're talking about europeans, then no, eating meat daily was definitely part of the game for 99% of europeans. The existence of seasons really make it hard to hunt enough to eat meat daily, if not impossible, and especially during the middle ages the average medieval peasants home did not have fork or knife in it because all they ate was oat gruel, fruit, the occasional undesirable cut from a work animal that died, and later on milk products.

Which is to say, as far as we evolved in africa, we DID evolve to be eating steaks 3 times a day. Europeans just ended up making do.

Maybe, but like I said they actively hunt the animal and use all parts of it to subsist for the next day. That's a lot different than eating chicken nuggies for breakfast, a hamburger for lunch, and pork chops for dinner every day.

            Anonymous

Most people are too stupid to even grow a plum tree let alone raise something as easy as chicken.

European nobles definitely ate a lot of meat, since meat is very easy to preserve and very nutritious. The peasants eating gruel was kind of a social construct. Their poverty was enforced, they weren't allowed to hunt and their livestock was property of the crown. If you moved away from the cultural centers of that shit you found people eating more and more meat.

And that is the model for our current society. The many work very hard and have very little that actually matters so the few can have what is important. Wagies are modern day serfs. if you have to work a full time job just to afford to live, you are a medieval peasant, but worse off in some ways despite the nicer food and health care. The peasant had more free time.

Probably this and appealing to kids I bet. Nothing makes more money than ad revenue from children, and kids seem less aware of gruesome shit.
Cickbait and outrageous stuff floods the interweb so much nowadays, it makes me wonder the psychological implications.

        Anonymous

I don't think it even intends to target children I think it just sees 2% of the people that see this video title and thumbnail click on it. Let's not show them .5% and 1.0%. Children are dumber than adults most of the time so they feed it, people with short attention spans feed it. I'm not so much concerned about the psychological implications as I am about the financial ones and why a product owned by the 4th richest company on the planet algorithms aren't more sophisticated and is ultimately following the philosophy of an amoeba.

I’m sure they are using people to test different algorithms. Google image search fluctuates. It start improving over time and then it get worse. I think they use the users clicks to train the AI and when it reaches an acceptable level they put a different AI to be trained. (you search an input and open the images that interest you so the AI know what was the right answer now). They probably do the same with youtube. They are using people to teach the AI what people want.

Either way, putting a pretty animal in an effective steel cage match against a predator is hardly natural. Sometimes the prey wins and kills their "pet", but they usually kill the prey anyway and get a replacement. Either they don't get attached, or they can't.

There's plenty of philosophy and psychology about the urge to see/make cute things die, but there are better ways to satisfy that bloodlust.
