    >Gets inside my home. I capture and release outside.
    >I see one at may patio. I leave it alone.
    >I see one at my patio while my cats are there. I help them hunting it. They get so much out of it.

How feasible would it be to get a free roaming population going in a house up North?

Well judging by the sheer numbers of these creatures I see on a daily basis they seem to breed like rabbits. If the place you live is hot n humid with a lot of bugs you should get a big population pretty quick.

lizards seem like the best possible pest animal. I can't imagine being that mad about a cute little guy like this sneaking into my house. It's not like they cause any damage do they? Mammals can cause real problems and can give you a real nasty bite even if they're tiny, I'd trade any of them for house geckos in an instant. Or the birds that try to make holes in the siding or the bats that keep trying to live in the eaves above the sitting area instead of the bat box. The only lizards we get around here are salamanders that spend all their time hiding under logs.

I was very relieved to know they weren't rats. If I hated them I'd kill em but when I do capture one I always release it. They are very cute despite being loud. Lol I once tried to coax one down from the ceiling with a broom but it chose to just free fall onto the time floor and went SPLAT. I thought he'd be dead after a fall like that and felt really bad but when I went to go pick him up he bolted.

it's wild how little of a threat gravity poses when you're tiny

Are there really people who still think salamanders are lizards?

      They are very loud.

They kind of croak like a little frog. More annoying is
      >tap tap tap..
      >......
      >taptaptaptaptap
      >...tap........taptaptap
I don't even know what the frick they are doing when they do that, but they tap the everloving frick out of the aluminium trim around my windows and sliding doors.

They're looking for bugs :] I don't hear the tapping though because my white noise machine is loud thankfully. I'm sure that'd get annoying real fast.

Well that probably means you don't live in Asia/SE Asia or some parts of Australia. Ever since I've moved to Cambodia I thought my apartmet had a rat problem but no, it was THEM. All the other lizards I've encountered inside a house are silent and polite but not these little shits. They crap EVERYWHERE too. I really hope they're making themselves useful by eating house pests and aren't just coming here to roost. If you've ever seen them hunt you'd know why they crap so much though.

If you have enough money it's a fantastic place to live because it's so cheap. You need ungodly amounts of money for just a bare bones retirement in america but here if you had that same amount of money to retire on here you'd be living in a palace for the next 20 years. I'm not retiring but I am a but successful online. Nothing I could live on in the US but here I'm doing great. The average meal costs $3.50 and rent is $150-$200 if you want a nice one bedroom place. It's even less if you don't mind the building being a bit shabby. Hell I know a guy who's rent is $50 because he could do without hot water and painted walls. Plus it's much easier to make friends with the small community of people here that speak english. Unlike places like the congo or any shithole with Black folk in it the people here are non-violent. In all my time walking around here alone as a single woman (yeah, yeah, can it) no one has ever harassed me, I can't even say the same for america. Also opioids and xanax are OTC and very cheap. The only true downsides here are the trash in the streets and language barrier.

speaking as a SEA native they don't really wake me up and I barely notice them so I guess you'll eventually tune it out. I've never seen their shit before so I don't really know how much of a problem it is for you but maybe I just didn't notice it or something
i remember as a child once our bookshelf fell in an accident and there were smashed gecko eggshells in the debris. they were nesting in the narrow space behind the books, probably
        It made me very sad

Catching these little shits are hard too because they're so reactive. They're not like anoles where they just kinda sit there and hope their camouflage is working. They're also obviously a lot more squishy and delicate too so hand capturing is a no-no. Super entertaining to capture them in a clear cup before release though.
