If they leave me alone, no problem. If they try nesting by my house they're dead. If they protect their homes I'll protect mine.

I did have one nest that was extremely tame so I left them. It's right on my patio but they never mind activity. If they follow me in the house I can shoo them out and they don't even get angry. So falls under they don't bother me so I won't bother them.

I had a couple of Cicada Killers or hornets that would roost in my back shed where I'd smoke Devil's Lettuce and zoom around me while I'd smoke. I'll never forget shooing them out again and again, only to get fly-buzzed within an inch of my face by those big flying sausage fricks. Never was an incident, we just lived with each other.

Everything that flies near me must die, no exceptions. Humans are the top of the food chain, animals should either leave us alone or cope with us and subdue. Since insects are not intelligent enough to cope and subdue, they must go

I had a ground wasp nest pretty close to my garden last year, I decided to leave it alone since they don't re-use the same nest the next year. They were chill but I couldn't weed too close to the nest or they would all freak out on me. I'm guessing they had tunnels going through the roots of the weeds I was trying to pull out, or just the vibration alone was enough to excite them.

they're grand. fished one out of my wine yesterday with my finger. didn't sting me and just flew off. typically annoying insect behaviour of flying onto your food and drink though

Wasps for the most part are pretty chill. Used to hate them with a burning passion but I've come to really appreciate them and love watching them hunt. I'm not a fan of nosey ones like yellow jackets but even then I've had very little issues with them when I go camping and stuff.
Biting flies and mosquitoes on the other hand are hellspawn and can go die in the firey pit from whence they came. I'll take a big spicy fella that avoids me 10x over a disgusting creature that actively tries to eat me.

No, they won't. Especially the red ones. They'll dive-bomb you for just being nearby. Dirt daubers are the good ones who won't bother you. Even if you are near them moving around. Even if you have to mess with them (get one out of the window and put it outside) it still won't try to sting you.

    Literal fricking wasp propaganda.
    >chilling outdoors waiting for a mate
    >feel something land on my arm
    >barely have time to look down before feeling the searing pain of a wasp sting
    >smack the little c**t dead on reflex

If you kill them, they win. You need to beat them at their own game, which is having a needle attached to your ass.

Why is this pic so uncanny valley as it applies to the uncanny valley itself? Essentially, it looks like it tries to make me feel the uncanny valley effect, but it just barely fails at that. It's not very eerie.

        >Why is this pic so uncanny valley as it applies to the uncanny valley itself?
That is the most annoying sentence I've read in quite some time. Kindly frick off.

All three times I've had one land on my arm, it didn't sting, but was nibbling on me. I think it was testing to see if I was made of wood. Didn't draw blood or anything, but their jaws are still strong and the sharp pinch could feel like they were trying to sting, particularly if you're afraid of wasps already.

They're probably my favorite insects right now. I used to kill them on sight, now they make me happy

You must have done something to deserve it.
It wouldn't sting you for no reason

I work in the woods and bald faced hornets are all over the place, and yeah generally unless you get up into one of their nests they won't hurt you, you can even swat one away and it usually won't sting. Still they won't fricking leave you alone, they're super curious and will buzz around you all day, I don't care how rarely I get stung it's still unnerving when one goes BZZZZZZ an inch from my ear. And if you disturb their nest, watch the frick out, getting stung is like getting punched.
Yellowjackets/ground nesters can frick right off though. Those c**ts will chase you a quarter mile if you so much as walk within a foot of their hole in the ground, they get into your clothes and frick you up.
Last year a log cutter I work with fell face first into a ground nest and got swarmed so bad he couldn't even run. We had to scrape bees off him and drag him up the hill while we got stung too. Ended up having over 100 stings, they couldn't count all of them under his hair and beard. He was back at work 3 days later

Do you not have wasps where you live? They are serious buttholes.
