If you let a dog or a cat live on the street you already condemned it to death. Whats the problem?

Maybe, they had a family member die of rabies? Maybe, their wife miscarried and the doctor said it was from congenital toxoplasmosis? (Must be an expensive doctor in that case. Most people dont comprehend how widespread toxo is or that outdoor cats are the sole source of it unless you have cougars and bobcats roaming the farms by the dozens)

ALL stray pets are a public health risk. ALL stray pets spread DEADLY DISEASE. If you like them, keep them on your fricking property.

I haven't seen a street/stray dog since moving to the US. Are there any here? Cats aplenty but not a single stray dog and I've been here for almost two decades straight now and around three decades total.
Where do you live where there are street dogs?

they are usually sent to shelters to find them a good home, but since the morons working at those shelters hate dogs and people and rather see them dead than adopted all the dogs end being euthanized.

          How would that even work
Is it too hot so they’re all dying all from heat stroke now lol

Sounds about right, shelters need better vetting all around

It's a county service, so it's only as healthy as your county government. Mine has a super low kill rate and I personally know the staff there are critter lovers. I think the only time they euthanize is when someone can't afford to have it done at the vet.

I don't think that explains why I don't see any. Someone would have to report stray or abandoned dogs for the county to pick up so, obviously, someone would have to actually see such stray and abandoned dogs to be reported.
Also, my county is completely no kill, by the way.

Out of the 15 dogs that live on my block, six are pits. One seems dangerous-ish but the others seem like total sweethearts. Well, five-and-a-half pits. One is half boxer. The dogs I dislike most in my block are the beagle, the pomerhuahua and the emotional support corgi. The corgi itself is fine, I just hate the b***h it lives with while the other two never shut the fricking frick up.

Every pit that killed someone was described as a sweetheart. They see US as prey and behave as such just like sweet greyhounds see rabbits as prey and behave as such. Pitbulls are not dogs. They are inbred wolves.

Then why has the 12 year old one on her last legs done literally nothing to anyone, ever? She just sits there, barely ever even barks (except when expected, like to be let out, let back in or when someone is at the door). She lives with the pomerhuahua, which I wish she'd tear apart, as well as some other tiny hideous mutt dog and three cats and all those animals are doing just fine. That house even had a baby chick once for several months until it started to get aggressive with the other animals (wienererel) and had to be given away. She never even hurt that bird that was attacking it. Porque?

I don't think you'll find street dogs in any 1st world countries. At least not in large numbers.
The street dog phenomenon is dangerous. It spreads disease, children and pets get attacked and killed. They cause property damage, all kinds of issues arise from them.

In generations past, we did have significant stray and feral dog problems, but concerted efforts by animal welfare orgs and government animal control departments have brought the numbers to negligible levels. Strays are normally caught and either taken to a shelter to be rehomed or put down.

You are looking at the results of several generations straight of what I described above. It's not like this happened overnight and it's not like stray dogs just spawn out of the ether. Practically every stray you might see is first-generation, and more likely lost than abandoned. There are very few actual feral dog populations for strays to join and reproduce with, so the numbers stay so low that most people will never see any at all in any population center of note.

I don't think animal control created the strays. Shitty pet owners that abandon them or don't spay/neuter their pets and let them roam are the issue
