So this retard hurt his back, I have a good job interview coming up so If I make it I can take him to the vet sooner then later.

So this moron hurt his back, I have a good job interview coming up so If I make it I can take him to the vet sooner then later.
He can still walk pretty fast, Bark and move around, Crouch to poop and all that. He just cant run, Had a hard time Walking up the single step to the front door or jump up and do his circus shit.
He doesnt seem to be in extreme pain since he is acting the same as always besides clearly not moving as fast.
I'm confused on how he got hurt considering he has a more thicker old fashion and short body type not the long noodle kind of Weiner dog but I guess it really just doesnt matter.
Weiner dog owners any advice?
Pic related is him this morning when it was cold outside.

pretty much nothing you can do, weiner dogs are more likely to get spine injuries than other dogs, I had a friend who had a weiner dog, it developed a spine problem too, it can get worse, make sure to build little ramps for your dog to prevent any further injuries, also be careful at stairs and anything lower than a 10cm distance between levels.I have a weiner dog too, she's 6 years and i built small ramps for her to climb instead of just jumping and that seems to help her a lot considering she had no spine injury so far, hope my advice helped you, anon.

The stupid thing is that a vet hasn't even said the dog.needs surgery
No good vet will recommend major spinal surgery as a first course of action unless the dog is majorly crippled
Most likely they'll try an nsaid, muscle relaxer and strict cage rest but poor gonna poor and dogs gonna suffer

I don't have 8 grand in my wallet I can just throw down. I need to save up 2 pay checks first. Hes not dying or in severe pain he wanted to play fetch with me today but I wouldn't let him so he didn't hurt himself so he still has enough energy to play. Not everyone's financial situation is the exact same 6 years after you get a dog. And he's my fricking dog who I love and is sleeping next to me right now in bed.

ask your parents or grandparents if any of them had ever had a back injury, they'll tell you it's excrutiatingly painful without exception. Just because the dogs dealing with it well doesnt mean he's not suffering
        Your options are
        >1. get him the surgery
        >2. put him down
        >3. do neither and watch his health detoriate and his will to live go away over the next month(s)
you're an adult, any option is viable and possible, but if you're not a psychopath you'll know which one to avoid

I never said I wasn't going to get the surgery I said I don't have the money in my hand to give to a vet right now.

a month is enough time for it to worsen significantly and permanently lower your dogs quality of life going forward

I made this tread for advice on how to keep him from hurting himself more. I know there's a chance of him getting worse but I genuinely don't see a reason to put him down. He's not crying in pain, Unable to walk, Having seizures or refusing to eat/drink. He's being his normal self and just sprinted across the house because my mom woke up. (Yes I live with my parents I'm in college)

        A trip to the vet isn't 8k

You're right, That's why I'm taking him as soon as I get paid but getting him surgery if he needs it is 8k.

            Rip. Hope he'll recover quick.

Why did you not insure your dog, anon? They live for 11-15ish years and in that time they will have to go to a vet at least once for an expensive procedure. It just makes sense to me to pay a $300 yearly fee to get those costs covered.

              Lmao what a israeli scam
Just dont buy pets until you can afford it and don't buy pets with known craniofacial and skeletal defects unless you dont mind watching your pet suffer while spending at least 10k on surgeries

Wieners are cute but they're an unhealthy breed.
Accept that you'll have to put him down eventually. Denying that will just make both of you suffer more.

He's 6 years old and yes I dont plan on getting another there just too much. But I'm not gonna put him down over this. My dad's dog has the disk disease as well and is fine because of the vets pain pill subscription.
I'm gonna take him to the vet in the next month when I get payed and have them fix him up.
