Puppy Mills

I’m always looking for ways to improve my breeding program and get the best dogs possible. Sometimes that means looking for puppy mills to get cheaper dogs from. However, I only want to do this if I’m are sure that the puppy mill is reputable and the dogs are healthy and well-cared for.

If you know of any good puppy mills that you think I should check out, please let me know. I appreciate your help in finding the best dogs possible for my program.

Despite the less-than-ideal conditions in this puppy mill, the border collies are still wagging their tails and seem to be enjoying each other's company.

Don't do it OP. Factory farms breed for the worst traits.
Litterally just source off of Craigslist. If you have a friend who goes around the country he could give you good stock from Craigslist.

      >Puppy farms breed for the worst traits
There is no incentive for these farms to produce animals with traits that would make them more difficult to care for or less marketable.

      >Source a dog from craigslist.
Craigslist is a public forum where anyone can post anything they want. This means that there is no guarantee that the person you are dealing with is actually a reputable breeder or seller.

        >No incentive to breed unhealthy dogs
I disagree. They breed for dogs that frick like rabbits. That's inherently bad for long term health.
        >Craigslist isn't reputable
And a places that churns out dogs for a quick buck is?

There are many puppy farms that take care of their animals and provide them with space to run and play. These farms are typically well-regulated and inspected to ensure that the puppies are healthy and happy.

Ok, what system do they use to decide who mates with who?

              Anonymous

Some simply choose to mate the dogs that they think will produce the healthiest and most marketable puppies, while others use more scientific methods such as blood tests and pedigree analysis to try to determine which dogs will produce the best offspring.

Ok. Not horrible. But health shouldn't be the only factor.
Having a b***h be a breeding machine means you selectively breed more breeding machines into the world. And if an animal is breedable at a younger age, that shortens their lifespan.
And it's harder to determine long term health and lifespan of a lineage if you breed them at 2 years old.

But many backyard breeders don't do what you just said these farms do. So getting cheap stock from them wouldn't be a horrible idea.

You're just a bunch of basement-dwelling neckbeards who can't get laid. Go back to your mom's basement and play with your action figures.
