pitbull living with small breeds? Pic unrelated

im phoneposting so sorry for the fricked up posting style. my family just rescued a female pitbull (3 yrs, used for breeding in past) that is friendly and has no issues with humans, however i live with one other small, male dog. she met my dog while they were both leashed, and she was excited to play with him, despite him being much smaller than her. She wasn’t rough and they took turns sharing a water dish without issues. She won’t be coming home with me till next week because she needs to be spayed. My current dog is active but old (13), and he is not neutered, and my family doesnt want him neutred. I’m almost certain they’ll be fine alone together, but some small part of my soul is freaking out.

Is there anything specific I should teach them regarding sharing food or toys? Should i keep a muzzle on her while i’m not home for the first week or two and set up cameras to see their interactions while i’m gone? He also occasionally attemped to hump her during the meet and greet (but he didn’t because he can’t fricking reach her), and he also tried to sniff her butthole to an extent that i could tell annoyed her slightly because she’d try to get away from him when he did that. we’re hoping spaying her may fix the humping issue? I love my little man and the possibility of fricking anything happening to him terrifies me, I just want them to like eachother but i’m scared at any moment she could snap at him, and since she’s huge, any type of aggression would be devastating to him. And yes before you ask, we have tried correcting his humping behavior, he is fricking moronic about it and won’t stop even if we spank him and yell no. Any advice will help, thanks so much

Like with all dogs just introduce em to each other and supervise for how ever long you think best.
Being a female and a male dog you shouldn't have huge issues except maybe when it comes to food or him wanting to hump her.

Yeah im sure a mutt-ant bred to kill other dogs and exhibit every form of killing drive possible without warning or hesitation wont do anything just have them sniff butts lol
      >husky/sighthound owners: bad idea. These dogs have high prey drive. Even if they’re well socialized a distant small animal on a dim day could get killed.
      >akita/bear dog owner: Bad idea. These dogs are very territorial, dominant, and violent. The slightest conflict could turn deadly, fast.
      >german shepherd owner: if you’re not getting them as a puppy i wouldn’t. GSDs can be very fear aggressive.
      >pitb mommies: JUST GIVE THEM TREATS WHEN THEY ARENT KILLING THINGS ITS HOW YOU RAISE THEM

Your dog isn't going to see his 14th birthday. Let's see if you have the balls to come back to Wauf and tell us how we were right and the pitbull mauled your old dog.

    >Should i keep a muzzle on her
If you ever think of this about a dog, that is an absolute shit dog, and deep down you know it. The only person you are fooling is yourself.

Why did you pick the murder dog instead of 189 other dog breeds? Countries that are not the u.s. ban them for a reason, managing a pitbull will be just as hard as a tiger when it sees something small

    What is that?

pitbull 'play' is the dangerous part, it very quickly turns into a mauling, if you watch the southamerican bullfights, which the pitbull was bred for, they always look like they are engaging in play, light sounding barks, wagging tail
i wouldnt trust the frickers in any way.

there is a LOW chance that everything will be fine but its not worth the risk imo, i've lived with pitbulls before and they are unpredictable scum,
    >put on a move and there's a fight scene too loud?
    - its mauling time
    >neighbors children are playing and screeching??
    -its mauling time
at the time i had a Hungarian vizsla, a pit cross and purebred pitbull, to look after. the vizsla was my dog.
i had to break up 10+ serious fights between the pitbulls, i would loathe to have had a small dog in those situations, 80% of the time it was the 2 pits fighting but they attacked my dog a couple times and i had to give them a fricking stomping and repeated gut kicking.

if you can, just put it down. they're all freindly and la la la braindead fairy heads 90% of the time and then snap they're fricking lockjawing your other dog. or god forbid a child/small dog/cat

A responsible person. All pit bulls should die.

      >cat
Net positive but there are better, safer breeds for removing those. Like greyhounds.

Put it down OP or you’ll regret it

Are you moronic? I asked for specific advice and youre giving me irrelevant “put it down” shit. First off, it’s not my choice, second i’d rather rehome than kill an innocent dog who hasnt even done anything yet.

Why did you pick the murder dog instead of 189 other dog breeds? Countries that are not the u.s. ban them for a reason, managing a pitbull will be just as hard as a tiger when it sees something small

        the shelter ONLY had pitbulls

          >Put it down
Legitimately the best advice you will get. Also
          >the shelter only had pit bulls
Then you go to another fricking shelter.

It’s not a dog. It’s a pitbull. Put it down.

Unwanted animal dumps are full of them for a reason.

Yes they are full of shit bulls because people keep returning them because they are shit dogs that snap at the drop of a hat.

Pits will basically maul anything, especially smaller animals thougb

well, if you don't want to put it down, still buy a gun and shoot when it bites (and it will bite)

          >all the dogs that need to be re-homed are pits
          Curious. Very interesting.
