Please help me, Wauf, you're my only hope.
I live in an apartment building, and every morning I get woken up by the infuriating sound of pigeons near my window.
I've tried everything I could think of to get rid of them. I started with spikes, which kept them off my windowsill but just moved them up one floor. Then I bought a holographic owl, which didn't seem to do anything. Then I bought one of those high-frequency emitters that are supposed to scare off vermin and birds, but I aimed it DIRECTLY at one of the fuckers and it didn't seem bothered in the least.
Guns aren't a thing in my country and even airsoft is heavily regulated, so recently I bought one of those electronic bb guns to hopefully scare them off for good, but it's quite loud and I only get two shots off before they fly away.
What can I do to get some fucking sleep?
Bose sleepbuds
or build a dovecote on your balcony and start eating them to assert dominance
Just get white noise machine.
Play falcon or eagle sounds from phone? I seen old man making whistle sounds, making it sounds like hawk scream and its seems scare birds away.
>Then I bought a holographic owl
>I bought one of those electronic bb guns
despite all those larps on Wauf and /b/ this is the only legit time traveler thread on this board
>he doesn't like talking to pidgeons
gay
>pigeons
Bitch, turn on a fan.
This is now a pigeon appreciation thread. I like pigeons, they are fat and cute and aren't that afraid of people. What do you like about them?
They go well with green peas.
how tf do you get woken up by pigeons, they only make quiet sounds. traffic makes much louder noise than any pigeon.
Buy a falcon and perch it on the balcony, that's what they use at airports
I'd rather move than subject a living thing to my shitty apartment just to get rid of some birds.
Traffic noise tends to be regular and easily filtered out by the brain, these birds make unfamiliar sounds randomly, and very close to my window instead of off in the distance.
Get a decoy falcon.
I've thought about it. Do those actually work? Don't birds just get used to it and start shitting on its head?
I live in texas and people use decoy owls a lot.
They work pretty good but you need to make sure to move them around every so often so the birds don't get accustomed to it.
If it works for grackles it should work for anything.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot then I guess!
I don't think anyone 'loves' the sounds of the city, it's just easier for the brain to filter out something constant and familiar.
The motorcycles aren’t constant or familiar and we don’t even live in the city
What i see is bugmen hate noises of natural origin
Then you are blind.
But I do live in bugland.
Seethe all you want but no one 'loves' the sounds of cars and trains. Also, those fucking delivery bikes also sometimes wake me up because of their pimped out exhausts. That's only sometimes though, while these damn pigeons show up at 6 every single day to serenade me.
not that anon, but where at in bugland? i want to visit there someday.
also, why not try earplugs?
Seoul. Used to live in a satellite city called Seongnam which was pretty nice, but I switched companies and now I'm stuck right in there. Thinking about moving to a place with some green.
Also I'd sooner consider 'letting them win' and just waking up at 6 than making my entire night uncomfortable with earplugs because of some birds.
word, i love korean food. sorry about the birbs. are they sensitive to ultrasound? they make things in the USA that are supposed to ward off mice, maybe it would work on them, idk.
you ever visit that raccoon cafe? pretty sure its in seoul
I bought one of those, aimed it straight at the fuckers and they didn't even cock their heads. I think city pigeons are just deaf.
I did visit a racoon café, a meerkat café, and a sheep café (and lots of dog cafés). Liked the meerkats the best. I heard they've got alpaca cafés these days but I haven't been.
I did see a plastic eagle that plays sounds at random intervals but I feel like that would kind of defeat the purpose since it'd wake me up just as much.
Pigeons make soothing noises
>Traffic noise tends to be regular and easily filtered out by the brain, these birds make unfamiliar sounds randomly
the absolute state of city people
>cars honking, engines revving and tires screeching: i sleep
>pigeon hooting: real shit
Yes, I live in a city and it sucks. Thanks for the input.
My neighbor bitches about dogs barking (from behind a fucking window) and continues whining AT THE SAME TIME as a motorcyclist a half mile away being loud enough to partially drown out his mumbling
Some people just love horrible artificial noises
