Peta subverting the truth once again

BULL FUCKING SHIT. We literally have canine teeth and are OBLIGATED to eat meat otherwise we grow deficient and our bodies begin to wither away. Our earliest ancestors were more carnivorous than us with Homo Ergaster eating mostly large game. The Homo Sapien skull getting smaller is due to the fact we don't eat enough meat and evolution has basically said "don't eat meat then you will become a small brain herbivore" it fucking sickens me to see this and the degradation of our own species.

Have you seen the evolutionary tree? You’re closer to rabbits than canines. The sharp teeth are literally just relics of sexual selection in the past for long sharp teeth that extended past your jaw. Gorillas have bigger canines than you.

But enough about that. I’m not going to eat animal flesh because that would involve killing animals, something I’m not going to do and something that I’m not going to import Somalians in my country to do for me

The one that eats meat. Biologically, requires meat to thrive. Your unnatural globalized economy and supplement products don't change a thing. Not practically, not ethically. I can grow chickens in an apartment.

                >requires meat to thrive
This seems to be a popular line recently, but "thrive" is very vague here. Is there a specific health outcome you're talking about? Or nutrient missing from plant foods? You mention supplements, so I assume you know about the obvious candidate, b12. But I'm not aware of any good evidence that b12 supplementation is inferior to getting it from meat.

                Anonymous

Thrive = optimum health, not staying alive. Fat neckbeards are alive but not thriving. Should we all be fat? Think, violent crime would go down if people were less physically fit!

B12 absorption from supplements is poor and every pseudo-spiritual new age nutjob/hypocritical jain/vegan/etc (same shit) should really consider eating an egg or something. There's less suffering and ecological destruction involved in eating an unfertilized egg than any other B12 source considering chickens can subsist off 0 animal matter and be kept as free ranging, quite happy pets. However you should also be trying to replace
                >creatine
Required for optimal muscle function and neural activity. Creatine supplements do nothing to normal people. Vegan retards notice an immediate improvement. Personally I just eat a bit of flesh automaton here and there. They're an efficient use of pasture land and food waste.
                >Vitamin D3
Sunlight alone isn't as potent as this and you can not rely on sunlight alone to have proepr vitamin D levels. Only mushrooms can offer a natural plant-based substitute and it's not as potent as this either.
                >Heme
Did a nutritionist figure out your diet? No? Then you're probably slightly iron deficient. Your body is set up to absorb heme more readily, and absorb iron from other foods best only if you consume heme, reducing the amount of plant food you have to burn through during droughts and other supply chain issues.
                >Taurine
Only found in animal products. Your body does better with an excess, not the minimum amount it needs to survive and synthesizes on its own. Used in regenerating and maintaining neurons.

I don't see a single fucking reason not to eat meat, eggs, and dairy anyways. We are not producing them anywhere near efficiently and still coming up with a massive excess and the best sources are basically NPC animals that don't care if they die as long as it doesn't hurt.

I never thought about it all. I have looked inside prey's eyes as I killed it, observed it for its entire lifespan, and never felt an ounce of guilt. And yet with higher animals my experience was the total opposite... including pigs.

And then the vegans came. Middling in intelligence, about as well spoken as a bush voter justifying the Iraq war, they forced me to question it. And so I said, man, you can't prove consciousness in either direction, so this is a spiritual issue or material bullshit where it's "all chemicals, man", and I don't see or feel any spirits in these things, and my chemicals are not flowing the way they do for what I perceive to be superior lifeforms. And I implore you to care and come to agree, because you are a threat to my food supply and what is the most sustainable and robust source of vital nutrients known to mankind.

I would agree, I think morals are subjective. I'm just wondering if by your ethical standards, it would be unethical to go out of your way to kill a mammalian carnivore. our canines are laughably tiny in comparison with even our frugivore relatives...

      Anonymous

Humans have the most reduced digestive tract of any primarily plant eating ape. Our proportions are closer to pigs, but we have a shorter gut and more reduced cecum (because we eat more meat) and omnivorous macaques. We also do not have any physical adaptations for digesting cellulose or display any behavioral adaptations like eating our own shit to further ferment our food because A MEAT HEAVY DIET COMPLETELY PRECLUDES THAT UNTIL YOU DEVELOP A STRONGER STOMACH AND FASTER TRANSIT THROUGH A SHORTER GUT! We are objectively omnivores that lean heavily towards being carnivores, as we have lost adaptations for eating plants in favor of ones for eating meat.

The agricultural revolution is marked in history by a worldwide downturn in human health by the way.

We do not have large canine teeth because we use our hands for killing prey, dismantling corpses, and crafting sexual displays. Only brainlets use the big scary teeth argument.

We make testosterone from cholesterol. Adult males require roughly 8mg of dietary cholesterol per kilogram of bodyweight to synthesise testosterone.
Sure, proto-humanity could have eaten at least a pound of nuts and seeds every day to get enough phytosterols to [inefficiently] synthesise testosterone (and consumed half our daily caloric requirement), or we could eat a single egg.
For women (and men in other functions) prolactin (the milk-production hormone) is synthesised from peptides. Peptides are found in cereals and beans, but a significantly greater concentration of peptides is resourced from lean meats and shellfish.
The fact that our hormonal system is built from the ground up to require a meat-based diet proves to me that humans are carnivores that can eat plants, not the other way round.

      Anonymous

The 2+ million years of nearly every single fucking hominid eating enough meat to leave evidence of it in the fossil records should have been enough.
As well as humans being unable to efficiently digest the most common plant based foods (leaves and grasses) unlike every other herbivore including omnivorous great apes, because fruits and nuts are relatively uncommon foods.
As well as our closest genetic relatives chowing down on bugs, eggs, bush babies, and each other despite having leaves as an option.
And the animals with the most analogous digestive tract proportions going for meat whenever it's available.

Oh but we don't have pointy teeth in front for killing things with our mouths so we aren't carnivores. Nevermind that we actually have shearing teeth adapted for chewing meat in back. Or the ratlike scissors up front.

      >The fact that our hormonal system is built from the ground up to require a meat-based diet proves to me that humans are carnivores that can eat plant
We are fully omnivore in the truest sense of the word.

Our feeding habits (small animals, fruit, root, fish) go all the way back to the fucking early hammer skulled mammals of the jurassic period. The only thing that changed is that we exchanged land insects for nuts

    >humans are anatomically carnivores
Even if that were true, it doesn't really mean anything. This sort of thing happens in nature. Pandas are anatomically carnivores yet subsist primarily on plants.
In any case, there's nothing dubious about calling humans omnivores. Being an omnivore just means we can survive on a varied diet, which we can.

We are anatomically meat-reliant omnivores. Veganism is as unnatural as eating nothing but prime cuts of muscle tissue.

Our ancestors ate tripe, liver, and chyme because high quality plants simply aren't available often enough for our bodies requirements. We also ate a lot of fish and scavenged kills. We do not have killing teeth because our fangs are handheld, and we do not have great grinding teeth because those are also handheld, so peta can take their tooth comparisons and suck it.

The animal with the most human like digestive tract is a macaque that eats lizards and frogs.

Honestly, eating plants isn't working out well for Pandas. They have to eat massive amounts of bamboo a day just to survive, even then they're unable to digest it and get miniscule amounts of nutrition from it.
Due to this Panda have had to adapt a new lifestyle that involves being as lazy as fucking possible because otherwise they have no energy and die. They cannot even walk up fucking hills anymore. And to make it worse, the reason Panda are so notoriously bad at breeding is in part due to their plant based diet. They often don't even have the energy needed to fuck, and even if they do and manage to get pregnant (which happens less now because their body doesn't waste energy going into heat anymore) it often cannot support the pregnancy due to a shit diet.

The only reason Panda haven't gone extinct is because so much is spent trying to prevent it.

God Panda are a shit tier animal.

Fucking lmao. Do you really think Pandas are somehow capable of planning their evolution? This sort of overspecialization is common, and why most species go extinct. They start out as generalists, find a niche, over specialize, then climate or disease things happen, oops primary resource is gone, extinct.

Pandas are literally just the herbivorous equivalent of a polar bear in terms of specialisation. Most bears eat primarily plants anyways

Panda conservation is 100% stopping farmers from destroying the last strip of habitat they have left. Before chinks started destroying their forests pandas were an extremely successful species with a massive range.

This is speciation in process. Why not just let it happen and let a new Homo herbivorus species develop? Just don't interbred with vegans and slowly they'll evolve different adaptions to herbivory.

      >let vegans speciate
      >stronger jaw muscles for processing more nutritious uncooked plant matter physically limit skull growth
      >less steep forehead, more robust jaw
      >jaw extends to accomodate larger grinding teeth, slicing teeth adapted for cutting up scavenged corpses and later cooked meat by the first humans reduce down to what is needed to strip leaves from a fork or start a cut in an orange peel
      >result is a voice that is both nasally and deep at the same time
      >feet shorten and broaden
      >musuclature increases for operating manual agricultural tools (powered systems were too bad for the planet)
      >hands become stronger and meatier, only retaining the dexterity needed to pick stuff off plants and later, climb trees. making and using fine tools becomes less important as agriculture and basic carpentry is done with larger, cruder instrument than the sharp points used for hunting and butchering meat
      >cultural factors cause the evolution of a divided rectal pouch so the first few inches do not store feces and self lubricate when stimulated, as well as a naturally flexible anus, due to females refusing to mate with males who are not progressive enough
      >also aids in passing large, firm stools from fibrous diet, selected for hardcore because those with more flexible and lubricated orifices spend less time shitting and wiping and more time eating, important for a nutrient-poor vegan diet

They kind of already segregate themselves don't they? Just allow it at this point.

      >The agricultural revolution is marked in history by a worldwide downturn in human health by the way.
This is true of any increase in contemporary civilisation before the advent of modern medicine
      >cities were invented, people got sick

The because matters and you know it
        >people got sick… because humans are obligate carnivores and can not get all the nutrients they need from plants that occur locally and in season

Ironically the agricultural revolution only got good when our livestock stopped dying and we evolved lactase persistence not when we figured out how to import fancy highly perishable plants from mexico mid-winter. Vegans have never been rigorously vindicated, only people against processed and overcooked foods have.

        >Seafood
Accumulates heavy metals. I wouldn't eat any carnivorous fish. I'm not counting insectivores here at all, because bugs aren't really meat. Bugs are more like highly mobile plants.
        >Pig
Least nutritious, least flavorful, most diseased meat, livestock will actually eat you if they get the chance, as well as each other. Pork eating is a chink tier activity. People originally ate them in emergencies because they were hanging around subsisting entirely off turds.
        >Chicken
Replace this with rabbit or goose. The only good food from a chicken is their unwanted periods. They make good pets for vegan fucks who have accepted they need animal protein to live.

PETA is a joke organization that kills most of the animals they profess to help and solicits donations from dumbass celebrities who don't do proper research before throwing their money at them. Fuck em.

"Obligate omnivore" while technically accurate sounds like an oxymoron. The truth is both PETA and the typical young white male NPC that frequents this site are wrong. Humans are almost obligate herbivores. The amount of meat that even primitive societies eat is WAY more than humans are supposed to be eating. And no, your example of savages in Europe 30kya doesn't prove shit. Push and I'll post the video. Having said that, all herbivores either are foregut fermenters (ruminants), must consume their own shit (gorillas and rabbits do this) or eat accessory meat (pandas, monkeys, humans are also in this category). Horses appear to be unique in being hindgut fermenters that don't require anything else.

      Too true, biologist friend.
